I've had real difficulties cutting Archie's nails since I had him - no amount of coaxing and treating would get him to let me clip his claws. He'd be terrible if the vet tried too, and me restraining him would only add to the stress. Over the last few weeks I've been using an ordinary emery board and he's tolerated this really well but as you can imagine its taking days to take millimetres off  I ended up ordering one of these Pet Nail Trimmer as it was pretty cheap and I thought I'd give it a go. It is so quiet Archie didn't flinch at all, and its a bit quicker than the nail file! I'm not sure if this bit of kit will last for years - I've heard of people using dremel type filers so next time I know I can splash out on one of them knowing it will be worth it. Even if I did manage to get him used to clipping I hate doing it - something about the sound I think  Hopefully he'll have nice tidy nails soon! If anyone else's dog is the same with clippers I'd definitely recommend something like this. |
