My 3 yr old Patterdale ignores most things on the ground with the exception of cats and foxes. Rabbits are totally ignored unless they go down their burrows. He's into all the holes if he senses an animal and digs and bays for all he's worth.

I guess this is because he is naturally an earth dog and that is where his instincts lie.

He has never killed anything - He didn't come from working stock.
