Last Wednesday five of us climbed Ben Nevis with three Staffords. It was in aid of The Teenage Cancer Trust & The Staffordshire Bull Terrier Welfare. My friend Reuben lost his 17 year old son Liam to cancer a few months ago, and this climb was in his honour. This is Reuben with Tia Posted Image Posted Image Posted Image Posted Image Posted Image At the summit the weather wasn't the best, Liam although he was from Darlington he was a massive Liverpool supporter, hence the banners. Posted Image Posted Image This is lance half way back down, at this point he was shattered. Posted Image Posted Image Reuben coming back in Posted Image The welcoming committee Posted Image Posted Image Posted Image Posted Image The dogs were absolutly fantastic they did everthing that was asked of them and more, although all three are now suffering with stiff muscles and a few nick on there pads. This exteme walk has changed the way I look at Lance, he is a little hero to me. It says in the breed standard that Staffords should be : Traditionally of indomitable courage and tenacity. Well Lance, Tia and Betty have this trait in abundance. What a fantastic breed Staffords are. |
