I agree with your points Wells... I guess its the same with most things isnt it, there is always a handful of sillies who ruin it for everyone else! I have found many old-school dog trainers don't like Cesars methods also. We took our Airedale to clicker training as a pup - for Millie this was fine but she got bored and was easily distracted. It's pretty funny to be honest, we did a routine at the classes... first sit (click-treat), then lay down (click-treat), and still to this day, when we get her to sit she will do so and if we have not given her a treat instantly she launches herself accross the room so enthusiastically to lay down, without us even asking, tee hee! My Mum's Airedale (also State side) will not do anything unless we are treat laden! She's a bit of a chubby because of it! |
