I did however during the handbag fight months keep a saucepan of water to the ready - only had to use it a couple of times and one of those was when I had four young welsh in the garden together. They went from a huge battle to playing nicely for the rest of the day, any grumbles and all I had to do was look like I was going to get out of the deckchair!
Ha, wish I'd seen that! I know it works, I have thrown the odd cup of water myself, the trouble is using there's the vague chance the dog will bolt for the hills if you walk past with a cuppa. ;) Long shot, I know, and probably so far-fetched it will never happen, but one dog did flinch once when I picked a mug up to put it in the washing up bowl.

Mind you, I put off using training discs and rattle bottles with Fred despite his problems because my aim is so bad I would occasionally hit him by mistake, then the behaviourist said 'so what?' it won't hurt him...

He did start picking on Beauty again the other day, so the (now squashed and pockmarked) cans came back out and have been lobbed around a bit again this weekend.
