No idea what that idea came from though!
The rule is basically for the large breeds, young bones and a fast increasing weight ratio putting strain on their joints. Some of the larger, heavier boned breeds have a relatively increased risk of osteosarcome so it's incredibly important to keep bones as healthy as possible. Plus the larger breeds mature at a slower rate. But because it's the only rule it get's quoted for all shapes & sizes. A young, light dog like Twig, who's naturally going to mature at a faster is a different kettle of fish all together.

Half an hour to 45 minutes is no biggy - especially on grass and soft surfaces. If you were doing 45 minutes every day of hard, trotting road work there might be a slight possibility of Twiggy getting a stress injury - but she's not doing that is she? But even then she'd be at more risk of boredom than anything else. I imagine she's doing multi paced, multi surfaced fun. At the same age both Boo & Davey were out playing in the park at regular intervals throughout the day, probably lasting half an hour each time and thrived on it. Building muscle, stamina, agility and increasing supplty - all incredibly important.

Some dogs are neat sitters, other aren't. Davey has never been an elegant sitter, splays all over the shop but the one thing people in the breed have always commented on is his sound rear movement.
