Sorry I missed this.

I have had/got both male and female Borders and I dont think it makes much difference really. The female I have is probably a little quieter in the house, by that I mean happy to lie around more than the males, but she is as much a nutter as the boys when she starts!!

Ive not had a male that humps stuff either, most pups will do it as part of growing up, they soon stop it.

Do your homework with regard to reputable breeders, and dont forget these dogs retain ALL their Terrier instinct and working characteristics, so training from a very young age is imperitive.
