Jean Donaldson (Culture Clash) recommends off-lead introductions as long as all dogs have bite inhibition, so if they want a bit of a scuffle they can get that out of the way without humans worrying, then they need to meet off-lead away from the fence on a regular basis so they don't 'relapse', although I doubt it would be as simple as that with terriers because it's a more inbred instinct! If you've got worries about reactivity try reading Control Unleashed which is written for owners who want to go agility with their dogs, but it helped me a huge amount with Fred. |
