As I've already mentioned I'm in same situation with Harvey, he goes beserk at the fence if he can smell that next doors dogs are out, they are both Australian shepherd dogs. Recently their dogs have poked their noses through the trellis bit at the top and I'm sure Harvey as really gone for them. Did mention this to my neighbour who said well serves him right for poking his nose through  Have to say because they are so resonable about it I haven't seriously done anything about getting him out of it, other than trying to avoid letting Harvey out when I know they are out, and if it does kick off get hold of Harvey and bring him back in. Harvey has come face to face with one of them when we used to go training and he did take an instant dislike, I wondered if it was down to the dog having different coloured eyes (one being blue) that put Harvey's back up  Not any help for you Dawnie I'm afraid, but would be interested if you find a solution :D
