I know there are escape artists are out there - I fostered a lakeland who zipped over it like it wasn't there, plus one JRT had no sense of 'staying with the pack' on walks so had to be kept on a lead, it just seems my experiences with terriers haven't generally been that bad. Also had other breeds go over the fence, but that's why I have the low fence, to identify the jumpers (with my neighbours permission who has 6' all round). I realise the need to inform people of what any dog is capable of regardless of breed, just think it's a bleak picture. Reading that I'd have no confidence I could take on a terrier, yet I've had two, and fostered another 8 or 9 and been very happy, so happy I'm going to be sticking with terriers. Just not RR terriers if they insist on a 6' fence, etc. |
