I had mentioned that he seemed wary of his back end being touched some time back but the vets said he was fine. Then his back end started collapsing. Still the vets said he was fine. He couldn't climb stairs, use steps, jump in the car and still the vets could find nothing wrong. They eventually gave in and kept him in for a day with x-rays.

Cooper has severe bi-lateral hip dysplasia.

Unsurprisingly, he has become a MUCH happier boy now that he's on Metacam permanently. I've also suggested Synflex and hydro.

However, the vet has told my friend that there is NO connection between his behaviour and the hip dysplasia and has told her not to focus too much on the HD but to work harder on his demeanour!!!!!!!!

I have suggested another vet, but Cooper is a changed boy now that he is pain free
I know there are many wonderful vets out there but my good dog it makes you wonder when you hear things like this. Wish it was just a one off, but sadly it isn't.

Wonderful news that Cooper is coming on leaps and bounds, great news and long may it continue!
