The training club I've joined to get Dill familiar with working around other dogs is very into obedience competitions and as Dill does seem to enjoy working, I've decided to give it a go. Ultimatley, I'd be more interetsted in working trials. Anyway, we have been allowed to skip the beginners' class and are in with the Bronze Good Citizen class. Once we move to Silver, we will also be allowed to join the Advanced class where they focus on competition stuff. I'm going to watch a comp in May near Ripon. I am a bit worried about the way the dogs have to work so close at heel and the way they are taught to 'present'. Fine if your dog is normal sized, but how can you emulate that with a tiddler? |
