A fortnight ago, Dill and I were kidnapped by a crowd of friendly beaters. Actually, we walked past and I jokingly asked if we could join them and they shoved a flag in my hand and adopted us for the day. They even bought me my lunch and drove me home at the end :) Poor me - spending the day surrounded by lovely men and working dogs :P

Anyway, Dill wasn't phased by the gunfire, the flags or the other dogs, although he found it hard to stay quiet when we were just standing in line waiting to start at the beginning of each drive. He loved travelling in the pick-up. I kept him on the lead during the drives, just to be sure he was under control. It was a great exercise in socialising with other people and dogs and learning to focus on me with lots of other exciting stuff going on. I let him off in between drives and he was really good.

We've been invited to come & join them next season, so I now have to get him really steady with birds and used to working close to me. :yippee:

I'm able to drop him when he's running away from me now too, so when it gets a bit drier, we are going to play with the sheep again too.
