Hmm its a tricky one! As Lu says the more you wash sometimes the more they end up smelling... or at least the bad smell comes back quicker. Sometimes if a dog has blocked anal glands it can give them a bad overall odour - that or bad teeth - so if its unusual for him it might be worth a once over from your vet. Does he do a lot of swimming in pond water? If he does maybe a rinse and a thorough drying off with a towel would be better than a shampoo. Another alternative I have heard people talk about is odourless baby wipes used as a quick wipe over their coat incase they get any muck on them. |
