Try not to panic and just enjoy yourself.(easy for me to say  )

Have a look at this link it's very good.

Obedience UK book

When you get to the show you need to find the ring/s that you are in and tick yourself off and put your name on the list for your running order. You need to be at the ring ready for your go when they call you so keep an eye on what's going on. Stays take priority over everything else so you need to find the stay ring and be there at least 10 minutes before the time. The times of the stays for each class will be on the score table on your ring when you sign in.

The stewards will tell you exactly what you need to do, usually you do heel on the lead then your recall then heel off the lead then retrieve but this may change a bit. In pre beginner and beginners you can talk to your dog as much as you like and at pre beginner you can reinforce the 'wait' command when doing the recall so I would advise that you say 'wait' as you turn round and while you get ready to call the dog in. You can only tell your dog to stay once so don't be tempted if they move. If it does move and comes to you just pop the lead on but don't move out of the ring as it may disturb the other dogs. If it runs out don't shout but leave the ring as quietly as possible then run like hell to catch it.

Have fun.
