Archie's exploits over the weekend has set me thinking  I can't help feeling that sometimes people get terriers because they are lovely little dogs but can forget their natural instincts.

I'd be interested to know if all the terriers on this board have lived up to their breed traits, or are there any laid back ones that would ignore a small fluffy thing

So far Archie has had a blackbird in the garden and a pheasant out on a walk. He's also picked up a toad but decided pretty quickly that was a bad idea

I'm not advocating setting your dog on the local wildlife or being careless around livestock (Archie is always on a lead around sheep and was onlead when he got his pheasant!). Its made me be extra wary as I'd be very anoyed with myself if he caught a skylark or other ground nesting bird when we are on our moorland walks.

Option of 'non-terrier' voting if you don't own one of these darlings ;) (but unfortunately you can only vote once).
