Macey is 6 months -she came to us at just over 3 months -she came from a friend who has loads of dogs and loads of kids but she's always seemed nervous to us -she would always widdle when we came in and roll straight over ( she has stopped this now )
But now she's barking at everything with a pulse :o she's barking at other dogs -if I shush her and take her over she's fine but more of a worry to me is she's barking at people -I walk her round town as often as I can and she's fine unless anyone stops -then she gets all nervous and growly-tail between her legs -I have been asking peeps to ignore her and after 5-10 minutes she's clamouring all over them .
Murph is a bit dodgy with other dogs and I don't want to go down the same road with Macey -I am trying to socialise her seperatly so she doesn't pick up his bad habits -so am i doing right by asking peeps to ignore her ? what do you think ?

I would say you're right about her being nervous. Is she on lead when she gets like this? Or is it when people come to your house etc?

If someone new comes to the house she barks :o but if they ignore her then she's all over them like a rash but if they approach her she will growl
On lead if we are walking she's not too bad but if they stop to stroke her she growls -so I have been telling them to ignore her and not look at her but I don't want her to the think her growling is keeping them away

I have to say tho' in the house she is a little angel with the kids-she accepts kids far easier than adults :eh:

I'm guessing that the only people she barks at when coming to the house are people she doesnt already know??

Hasn't she recently been spayed? If so her hormones will still be all over the place, often an excuse for erratic behaviour. Just ignore the bad behaviour and praise the good.
Dawn.
