Help, my 1 year old JR bitch has dug so many holes in the lawn that it's not safe to walk on any more. No problems with the other 2 JRTs - so what can I do?? :pup:

:welcome: to the forum! Must be a mad house with three terriers to contend with

Could you try and give her her own space just for digging? I read that you could have a sand pit (they love digging in sand) and praise her for digging in there instead... :err: You could also try distracting her while she's doing it, and praise her for stopping :)

Hope this helps a little!

You could fence off the grass where you do not want the dogs to go, i'm afraid terriers do dig, the sand pit sounds a great idea.

Get a horse! OK, bit extreme, but mine do all their digging up at the stables, in the sand school.

You will struggle to stop it, so as others have said, giving them a dedicated area seems best. Saves your lawn, plus you get to build sand castles if you fancy too!! LOL.

Early Learning Centre do some that are shell shaped and have a lid, so you can close it off when not in use. Also means it gives all three a place to bury their treasures
