When we take Rosie(terrier) and Tim (lurcher) out for their daily walks and meet other dogs Rosie starts attacking Tim I use the word attacking loosely as she never bites him but starts almost bullying him and making ferocious sounding noises as if she really means business. I explain to people that she does play rough and noisy but she seems to wind all the other dogs up also. She does calm down eventually and then starts back up again. Poor Tim just has to put up with this or tries to run away with Rosie in hot pursuit. The only way we can prevent this is to give Tim a large stick which he carries round and then Rosie will hang off the other end, but at least this gives poor Tim a break. I wish he would put her in her place as when he does she backs down. From observing her it looks just like a spoilt child saying these are my friends and your not going to play with them. Is this normal behaviour and do i just let them get on with it. As I have said she never does any damage but sounds like she is going to murder him. |

Thanks at least I know it is normal, and I must say that it is getting better. Also from watching their behaviour more closely Tim does seem to be instigating more rough and tumble than he was at the start. I get dizzy just watching them |

Missie drags Alfie round the living room by his tail, back leg, jaw. They just seem to like it rough! |

Duncan grabs a great fold of skin around Daisy's neck and tugs - I used to try and stop him until I saw Daisy nudge him when he stopped one day.... :P |
