came back from the park and poppy was covered in sticky burrs so was brushing and combing them from her coat when speedy grabbed one and swallowed it, he has had a drink of water and a small piece of chew and has since been sick but no sign of it so do not know if it is lodged in his throat or passed further down and will come out in his poo, so any advice would be greatly appreciated

Is it one of the little round burrs or the large thistle type ones? Shouldn't think it will do him any harm at all but keep an eye on him just in case. It's amazing what they can swallow and have no repercussions afterwards.

Have moved this to health section.

Poor Speedy! Archie hates getting covered in them. Is his breathing normal? I would have thought that if it was stuck somwehere he would be distressed with his breathing. As he's been sick it might be worth a call to your vet. Does he seem happy enough in himself?

he is not having difficulty with breathing and is not in any distress, in fact he is behaving normally, or as normal for him running around as usual

It might be that it just scratched his throat on the way down, which made him sick coz it was sore. Keep an eye on him, make sure he can drink ok ;)

Dudley's always swallowing the small round ones as he gets covered in them after running through the long grass and sits and pulls off the ones I miss.

Never thought about his throat being scratched  What do you normally feed him? Maybe an idea to give him soft food today but sounds like he's fine.

Hopefully he's over the worst now then  Archie says 'burrs are most deadly when they stick to your legs and make you scared'

he is definitely ok, he is his normal scatterbrained self, just does these things to scare the life out of me, reckon he has put 10 years on me since i got him from the rescue in may.
