pip has had extremely hard poos over the last 2 days. and has had difficulty in passing them, as they are so solid resulting in him pooing in the house as he wants to be near me when he goes because it hurts.
Does anyone know of anything that i could give him to relieve his problem.

Try half a donner kebab with whole chillies. That's what Holly ate this morning on her walk, and she sure hasn't got blockages now... Quite the opposite

You could try adding a little oil to his dinner, or maybe give him weetabix mashed up with water for his dinner instead. Don't give him any bones for a while either. He's not been biting at his bottom, or rubbing it on the floor has he? They strain to have a poo when their anal glands need emptying if I remember right.

he has had a bone yesterday and is still eating it but has been constipated before that. no his diet is still the same and he has wheatabix or shreddies for breakfast along with us. i will try the oil in the dry food to see if that works.

He is not chewing or biting and not straining that much but what he does pass is so solid even when accidently trodden on it did not break. OUCH.
I feel so sorry for him he seems so down and is slightly panting.

Here's hoping he's feeling a bit better after the weekend, if not I'd pop him along to the vet if he is still uncomfortable :)
