Im looking into getting a harness for Bruce, somebody has linked me to this one on ebay http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...%3D50%26fvi%3D1

can anyone tell me if it looks any good and if the sizing might be right?

Also the ones in poundland, are they any good?

I'll be interested in the response too.

I've got one for Archie from doggames.co.uk which is nice and padded (which helps if his skin is sore). But the strap that goes around his ribs has started rubbing his armpits so I've swapped for one from Pets at Home but this one looks like its digging in at his shoulders

...and both these harnesses have a tendency to slip over his head if he stops and I don't notice

So if anyone can recommend one that does up well back from the armpits and doesn't come off over his head easily, that would be great :)

CavyKaz that one looks ok - I find it a bit difficult to judge if I can't touch them! The plastic bib underneath might be a bit bulky, but also might keep the straps from bunching up together? Its a good price though!

Not seen the poundland ones.

I've never used a harness but there's nothing to stop you taking down the details of this one, taking Bruce to your nearest pet shop and trying it for size :ph43r: to see if it will fit ;) I would be a bit doubtful about the Poundland one - if it doesn't fit properly it may rub him badly.

Happy Dog Harness

I've got one of these for Dudley. It fits really well and doesn't rub at all.

It works out a bit expensive as you have to buy 3 bits but I'm really pleased with it and would buy another.

ooh they look fab Paula, thanks for the link!

Please can you get Duds to stay rooted to the spot (think Archie sniffing grass  ) and give it a yank and see if it comes over his head

Looking at the fit on the dogs on the website the harnesses I've got are too big as they're baggy in the chest and if it slips forward he can step out of it.

It's never come over his head even when he cocks his leg and I'm still walking

He swims in it too if there are other dogs in the pool as I have to have him on a long line and it doesn't restrict his movement.

I shall get some happy faced pictures for you to have a look at.

I'm umming and ahhing about getting Suzi one but may have to ring them as I'm not sure if it will go small enough

Hi Dawn:
his recal isn't 100% when faced with other dogs so I use a flexi in those situations - and a harness is best for that. Also, with his skin being prone to chafing a harness spreads the load better. It also stops him strangling himself when we meet pheasants in the wood!

Ok, fair enough, its just that I have a "Canny collar" that I won, if it was for pulling, I was going to ask if you would like it, they are supposed to be excellent.
Dawn.

Canny collar.

Its funny because he can sometimes pull on his lead, but doesn't do it as much in a harness (and its not even a no-pull harness!).

I've not used a canny collar before, and always wondered of you could witn BTs as their noses are so short so that's good to know :)

I can't see his face at all! That looks like a good fit - I take it that was the small size?

Here's one I bought for Roxy,
The photo doesn't do it justice its a beautiful pink with a dazzling decoration (we have had quite a few comments  )

Posted Image

Its fleece padded and doesnt go near her elbows, it was made to measure.

Posted Image

It came from TRPD,

they do an escape proof harness which has an extra strap on it,

quote " I will need a couple of extra measurements for an escape-proof harness. Firstly the circumference of her waist at its narrowest point behind the rib cage. Secondly, the length measured along her back bone from between her shoulder blades to her waist. This is because the escape-proof harnesses have an extra strap that fits around the waist and stops the dog pulling out of the harness, once they learn how! My hooligan has never managed to get hers off since I made it for her - and she has certainly tried more than a few times! Do you also need a matching lead?"
