Just keep an eye on him I'm sure he will be ok :) Choc is not good in such large amounts, but I think it is dark choc which is the danger. Maybe give the vet a ring just for advice :) He may well bring it back up

Archie did almost exactly the same thing last year  - climbed up on the back of a chair and onto a shelf to get at an (almost) whole bar of galaxy. I called the vet and they said just to watch him, because his weight and the amount of milk choc he's eaten meant that he should be ok.

He was completely manic for the day though, and kept peeing all the time! So don't be suprised if he's left a few puddles when you get back ;) If you're at all worried and you think he's getting ill from it pop down the vets later to be sure.

This is definately a terrier thing - they love galaxy!

Me and my mum always used to have a BIG bar of galaxy at the weekend, and one day I didn't eat mine - as all four of our dogs were chocolate freaks I put it on top of the welsh dresser (which was over 6ft tall!) and Jessie our JRT jumped from the back of the sofa to the back of the dresser (she could also climb trees!) and ate the bar of chocolate on top of the dresser so the other 3 didn't get a lookin.

She was fine, if not a little hyper. She also used to rip holes in pockets to get at mints that may have been hiding in there.

I am sure he will be fine, though do keep an eye on him - he may have a bit of a runny bottom though, so make sure you have plenty of hole free pooh bags!

Ah yes, I'll never forget those chocolate Mr Whippy poops   Archie would go mental at the smell of chocolate for a few weeks after too - once they get the taste for it there's no stopping them

Well I have Daisy the chocolate connoiseur par excellence.I dread to think how much chocolate she has eaten and suffered no ill effetcs. But do keep an eye on him and if you notice any difference in his behaviour call the vet.I think like people some dogs are affected very much by it,as others have said he'll be bouncing off the walls with sugar hyper.Make sure it's put away in future (says she who ahs had numerous bits of food nicked by greedy dogs)

Galaxy has so little realy chocolate it in that I'm sure he'll be fine.

Dudley loves Galaxy but isn't too keen in the 70% realy chocolate.

when I was a kid my mother used to buy our dog cadburys buttons every day! people weren't aware of choc being a danger to dogs in those days  He also used to get a 99 cornet with a flake when the icecream man came around  He lived to a ripe old age of 16! Not saying it is right to feed dogs such things but theres no need to worry too much if they manage to accidently have a choc binge, especially if its milk. Ooo I can still here the sound of Brandys howling ringing in my ears when he heard the ice cream man approaching

Our dogs have always had ice creams from the ice cream van and Dudley always sits up when he hears the tinkly tune. Thought it was just us but obviously not.
