I found a lump on Thursday last week so she was straight down the vets on Friday. They want to take it out as soon as possible so she goes in for (another) operation tomorrow morning at 9am. Poor little girl had only just got over her spey operation when they are cutting her open again. They don't think it is cancer as it is not attached to the skin, but is attached to the tissue making it slightly more difficult to get off. It is quite large at about an inch long and very hard :( also it is in quite a difficult position, on her chest just before her left armpit, so am hoping she will heal very very quickly from this one. They are also concerned at the fact that she is just over 7 months old. :( Have only managed to book a couple of days off work to help her recover, and as I only took my insurance policy for her out 14 days ago on the day of the operation it may not cover it. Though I don't care about the money so long as my little baby is ok. |

Oh dear how worrying  Does the vet have any idea what it might be? I guess they have to wait and test the lump. I'll be thinking of her - and you - tomorrow morning  |

Thank you all for your well wishes. The lump has been removed successfully and has been sent for immediate testing. Maddie is just coming round and I should be able to pick her up at about 4pm. Can't wait to give her a big (but soft) huggle. |

As you can see Maddie is back to herself this morning, just has a little limp. Posted Image  Posted Image The vet mentioned he had to cut away quite a bit of tissue and also cut into her muscle to remove all of the lump, so she has been quite sore. Though this morning you wouldn't have thought she had ever had an operation apart from the ghastly wound she has on her chest (which I am thinking will more than likely scar). He thinks it was a lymph node, but the results come back in 2 weeks. Posted Image Despite everything she has been through she still manages to look happy and inquisitive. Posted Image Thank you all for your well wishes, will keep you all informed of her progress and of her results. |

Yes she is, its her bed that she destroyed the other day - here she is picking the stuffing out! Posted Image It is quite dramatic, it was a big lump, about an inch. The thought of the vet cutting away muscle was quite disturbing. She isn't bothered at all by it today and I am desparately trying to keep her as calm as possible. I gave her a jumbone as she normally wants to just sit and munch on those, but she insisted on jumping around the place trying to bury it, so it has been taken off of her! Little Madam that she is! |

How about filling a kong for her - peanut butter, cream cheese something she can't get out very easily should keep her occupied - unless of course like Duncan she just chews the top off them  |
