a little in agility - is this normal? Shes been doing really well, and the jumps are improving massively (in regards to turning corners and going where I want her to). Sh'es always been pretty good at the tunnels, but has been missing them a lot lately, and this week, she wouldnt do any of the walks ie see saw, A frame , dog walk. Normally she doesnt even look at them and runs right up/over them and waits perfectly at the end.
Does this normally happen and is just a blip - or do you think she's losing interest?
I've ordered a full agility practice kit which should arrive any day - so am hoping that by doing it 2-3 times a week, things will get more consistent.
Any advice welcome!

I still get days like this with both dogs when they act as if they have never done agility before.

I would say don't overdo it at this stage, much better to have one good session a week than 3-4 frustrating ones.

I agree with Paula...some days are better than others. Jack Dog can also look like he has never seen an agility course in his life ( this usually happens in the ring at the show!!!!)

Don't force the issue...if its not working, don't worry. Walk away and try later....but remember agility is meant to be fun....when you stop having fun then you stop agility.

Enjoy your time with your dogs

Thanks - im still enjoying it and I think Peggy is - she has her tail up and wagging all the time anyway! At least its pretty normal to have good and bad days then so I wont worry too much about it :)

I wouldn't, Monday night training with Dudley was crap last night Suzi was crap and Dudley was up for it and the lights fused about 20 minutes into the session and we couldn't find the trip switch.

Heh - sounds like it was lots of fun for you then (not!)

Suzi hates the surface at training so I'm thinking of stopping one night a week with her in Autumn when Thomas may be able to join.

Where do you train then? We use an indoor riding school and the floor is totally sand - and Peg spends most of the evening either digging it, eating horse poo, or scratching the stuff out of her ears and eyes - how she still manages to 'perform' with that i'll never know!

It's an indoor school too but has a very finely ground rubber surface which can get very deep in places and moves around a lot which I think she finds a problem being so small. When the large dogs are going through the weaves they make ridges and troughs that her and Dudley both have trouble with.

She's much better on grass, much more confident.

yeah - when we went up to Mill Rescue day out - Peggy was much better at the weaves as they were on grass. Also im teaching her a few tricks and 'rollover' is one of them which she will only do on grass or carpet - guess anything else is too hard for her :)
