I used to have nice hands and nails always manicured, no longer I have bit patches of dead skin in the palms of my hands and along my fingers and thumbs. It also helps to have someone who will share their skills with you.

You can have the best teachers in the world but there's still a huge amount of talent, artistry and long hard slog to turn out a trimmed terrier to look like Cilla does .... Emlyn Snow and Warren Bradley have spent HOURS(!) demonstrating, teaching etc and whilst I get callousy hands, the dogs look like rag bags!
