These were taken by my friend and are posted with his permission. They are a female Goshawk catching rabbits, using a Brittany Spaniel to work the cover. Thought some of the hunting/working enthusiasts would like to see them.
Dawn.

:yay: Dawn, they are amazing! People spend years buiding up to the day they can train a Gos and you manage to get one to pose for its photo :P

Lovely to see a pic of a Brittany too - out of rehab and in gainful employment!!!

Not my pics RJL, but I agree they are superb, they were taken by a friend of mine, he was out hawking with them.

The photography is stunning! How wonderful to see the bird doing what it should, a neighbour of mine had a bird of prey but I'm not sure if he ever took it out. Watching a staged display at a bird centre can't have anything on watching them do it for real. Thanks for sharing!

Fantastic shots (especially the third one) - a beautiful looking bird as well.

These are amazing pictures and I have no problem looking at them - a most natural thing. I get quite choked at the amount of 'road kill I see, The other day a Cock Pheasant had been killed and was laying in the road with two Hen Pheasants standing over -

When I was a little girl I wanted a hawk. My grandad is a 'canary man' and I used to trawl his cage and aviary birds for adverts dreaming of the day I would have one. Lost count of the number of times I read Kes. Sadly I never did get one, you can tell your friend his pics have made my night x
