Dill and I spent the weekend in Borrowdale with SARDA Lakes and it turned into a real dog-fest!

There were the search dogs - which is always a pleasure in itself.

Then, today, the farmers were gathering the sheep in the valley and we saw a fin display of dog work (and lots of :x: :x: :x: - at the sheepdogs as they collected the valley. The hills were definitely alive!)

Next (I nearly wet my pants!!!) a bloke came by with....a border and a jack russell and two foxhound pups :yay:

Afterwards, I went into Keswick and saw a culry coated retriever and two (two!!!!) Welsh springers.

To top it all, Dill behaved impeccably and I was so proud of him

Yes - it was anorak Heaven :)

Sounds like my idea of heaven!

Love Welsh Springer's - a friend of mine used to breed them, lovely dogs.

Well if I was jealous before I'm REALLY jealous now - my sort of countryside!

Looking at the second photo my feet were itching to set off across those fields - and Dill is looking very grown up by the way - glorious looking collie. Is Dill going to train regularly with SARDA?

I think Dill would love to be a search dog, but I'm not a mountain rescue team member and as I'm already intending to train towards working trials and see what he's like at stockwork, I think he's busy enough!

However, I will be taking him along to training weekends for the socialisation, as long as everyone else will put up with him

He's done 2 farm visits this week so far and loved every minute of them - rarely on the lead as only a couple of fields had stock in. Poor little guy is tired now ( :yay: at last!!!)
