Well done Flynn
:D That instructor is right, I see so many people who have trained their dog to obey the 3rd, 4th, 5th etc time of saying. This is more noticable in the recall. Hands up how many had dogs that obeys the recall command after it being said several times  I have done this in the past but now I don't call my dog if I think they won't come and only call once. If they don't come then I turn and walk the other way and find somewhere to hide. When my dog suddenly realise that mum isn't arround, they soon come looking. |

I should introduce you to Boo then Mattie! As far as she's concerned she's totally confident in her ability to find her home and feels absolute confidence that I can equally find my own way! Hide from her and she'll just continue on her life's journey without a care in the world or a backward glance - and she was like that at 12 weeks old ..... :yikes: Davey's a totally different kettle of fish! Whenever I've tried to hide from him I'll get behind a wall say, turn round and there he is! |

Tommy used to arrive home before hubby if he was walking the dogs
 He used to let her run off in the belief that she would come back, she never did. He was looking for her one day when another man came along with his dog and asked hubby if he had lost one. Tommy was about a mile away standing on a wheely bin trying to open another.
 He lost her another day in a place were he had taken her by car, she went and called at a house were the man used to meet hubby walking his dog, he put her in his car and brought her home. |

Crumbs, Mattie! Tommy would a given me a bloody heart attack! I lost my old girl for 30 minutes once and nearly pooped me pants! (She finally turned up in a cornfield, obviously lost and distressed by the wind carrying my voice screaming for her in funny directions!) |

Oh dear - sadly these things often happen with our little terrors. I'm sure you will - but persevere as he will truly surprise you in a good way more often than not im sure. |
