Thanks for this, I need some new wellies, my old [very old] hunters have a couple of splits in the legs and although the feet are OK with the weather we've had lately I can't wade though deeper water like I use too! I keep promising to get myself a new pair - and the socks do have a certain appeal  |

See - here is my problem with wellies - and boots in general. I have very small feet - size 31/2-4, but I have very very large calves. When I was riding (many years ago!) i had to buy riding boots that had XXXL around the top!!! So - at the moment Ive got a really cheap pair of green wellies that arent really high enough - and every pair of socks I wear with them ends up rolling up under my foot arch. Even my walking socks which are great with my walking boots - don't work. So - am I likely to get some Hunters wellies that fit my fat calves in a size 4, and a pair of socks that will stay up??? I dont really know much about Hunter Wellies! |

Lu, go for it, well worth the money as I am sure u know from ur old pair! The socks just make them EVEN better! Half pint, in my boyfriends pet shop they do a wide fit, my sister in law is going tonight as she has size 4 feet and wide calves so i will let you know how she gets on! she is also a horse rider! As for the socks, they will stay up, as they actually fold over the top of the welly, so it would be pretty hard for them to fall down. This is my first pair of hunters and I have never worn such comfy excellant wellies, i think if u have a pair you wont buy anything else after!! |

:yippee: There's a Welly Shop in Ross-on-Wye - going to make a visit when I go up to the HWAR show in April. Hunters are brilliant - I looked at a pair of Dubarry boots recently - but at £250+ I didn't look long  |

I am absolutely positive that there is a Hunter wellie stand at Crufts that make them made-to-measure there for you ;) |

I love the socks but after my Aigle wellies I would never go back to Hunters. Years ago they used to last for years but now you're lucky if they last the winter. |

So where would be the best place to buy either of htese from, as having never had a pair before, I would definately need to try them on before I buy - especially if i'm paying £50 upwards for a pair!!! Not sure I can wait until Crufts for a decent pair as its like a swimming pool in most grassy areas now! |

Hmmm well mine came from my local pet shop where I could try and bring back if necessary! Other than that i guess it'd have to be from a website, and mayeb try ringing before ordering to see if you can take them back if you are not happy. They sell them here, and Robinsons are usually quite reasonable on price, but P&P is a bit hight http://www.robinsons-uk.com/products/Produ...opGroupCode=001 Otherwise, i am not much help after recommending them lol, cos i got them from my pet shop, which i doubt u wanna travel all the way to oxfordshire to go to! :D |

I checked on the web site for Mole Valley Farmers - they are only £35 + with VAT online. Tempted to go to the store one lunch time and try them on for size and order on line? |

Wouldn't they be cheaper to buy instore Lu - no shipping costs. There's another big farm supply shop in Bridgwater - can't for the life of me remmber the name - might be worth trying them? Muck boots are brilliant too and they keep your feet warm. |

Hunter wellies are such a well-known brand I'm sure lots of farm shops and outdoors shops must stock them? Unfortunately I find wellies too difficult to walk very far in so I don't own a pair  I bought some waterproof gaitors which have pretty much turned my walking boots into wellies  |

Good thinking  County Wide - Is that who you mean? I have found them a bit more expensive than Mole Valley in the past but well worth a look! |

Try your local Riding/Equestrian shop too, they always have them there. |
