At least Yoyo you had the decency to kill a rabbit on a fairly deserted beach - and not at a dog show being held by the rescue you came from

Lynne you CANNOT leave a story like that in the air!!

Fantastic Yoyo -what a story to regale the other dogs with next time you see them!

Sorry to hijack Laura ;) It was at the HWAR show, they have caravans at the stables where the show was held and several folks were camping for the weekend.Saturday afternoon (show was Sunday) dogs were off lead when Daisy vanishes under one of the outbuildings to return with the hugest rabbit in her mouth.I hoped nobody had seen her and grabbed the rabbit and found the stable owner who was very blase and said to put it in the woods for the foxes which I did. 3 people said later they had seen what she did

Archie's turn

On our walk today we had just come out of the woods and Archie was on his flexi as there are sheep in the field. There was a group of them grazing a clump of grass so I got Archie to wait until they saw us and walked off as I don't like to chase after them if he is with me. A male pheasant raced out of the long grass so he was keen to be off in pursuit!

The sheep wandered off so we carried on, walked straight past this clump of grass, Archie stuck his head in and WHUMP he caught a female pheasant :o on a lead :o :o :o

He got her right by the neck so I let him get on with it. Thought he might rag it like he does his toys but no - 3 definite lunges, 3 squeaks from the bird and it was all over! THen he started chewing on the wing feathers  didn't want him to eat any as he's starting an exclusion diet next week, so just left it there for the buzzards.

Walked round the corner and met up with my friend, his dog and the farmer and her dogs and explained what he had done  she was most suprised that I hadn't taken it for myself and went off looking for it to put in her pot

Wey Hey Arch!!! And on a lead too - rather like expecting Linford Christie to take gold in a 100m sprint while on a bungee line. We're seriously impressed!

 Have to admit - I'd have taken it for the pot!

I'm working on getting Dill 100% on his 'sit' whistle. I shall have to stop him reading this thread - as by September he will be a beater!!!

Way to go Archie! Did we save some feathers for his cap? :D Some dogs will have them pinned & let them go, not sure of what to do with them I guess.
