daughter took one of her racing dogs here today for some hydrotherapy on his leg injury, she couldnt praise them enough.(your dogs dont have to have an injury to go here they can go just for a play swim)
:) hes been to another place but was terrified and yet this nice lady spent ages calming him down and playing with him even gave him some treats and he was actually wagging his tail when he came out.its a very reasonable price and im going to take razzle next time and just let her have a play in the water as she loves swimming but i dont like her spendimg to long in the lake near us in this cold weather(doesnt seem to bother her though!) http://www.teazledownswimsafe.co.uk/ |

When Jess had her accident I was tempted to use the local Hydrotherapy pool at Andersea to help rebuild her muscle tone. I never did as by walking her it did the trick! Jess too loves swimming and is confident in the water but I would love to see her swimming in a more safe environment [one where I don't have to wash the dirt off afterwards - or hoover up sand for ever ;) ] |

My old lab used to love swimming in anything
 Here she is at home with my daughter and boyfriend back in 2002, (my mum keeping watch under the brolly) she always had to be helped out but knew exactly where the steps were and always swam to them when she had had enough. Posted Image Posted Image Maggie loves swimming too, but unfortunately I have no pictures of her in the pool. Peter won't even contemplate getting his precious paws wet  This dog pool looks lovely. I would be great if it was near us because then I wouldn't be forever clearing dog hair out of our pool filter!!! |

All of my lot love the water. They have their own pool which i bought for them a couple of years ago...6ft diameter and about 2 ft deep. Most of the time they just walk around in it after their walks to cool down...but if i fill it up too much Newt sometimes has to swim as she is smaller than the others  then one of the others will climb in and let half the water out  |

Gracie goes to hyrotherapy every week and it has made a very big difference to her and her mobility. Gracie has artritis in all 4 legs and spine, both crutial ligaments have gone and she has a compressed disc in her spine. The one Gracie goes to is a treadmill and is really good, it goes at a speed for Gracie, slow at first then speeds up once she has warmed up. She loves it but also loves to play in there my lifting her feet up and drifting, turning round then lifting her feed up etc. I took these pictures a few weeks ago and the water level has been lowered since then, she has to support her own body but still has the water to walk through. It has been lowered even more now and she has to step through the water. Gracie playing  Posted Image Turning back to start working Posted Image Gracie is working well in this one and looks like she is enjoying it. Posted Image |

mattie ive heard really good reports from vets for this form of hydrotherapy for dogs.a lot of the greyhound people my daughter knows use this pool at preston also racing whippet people too.a friend in ireland whose dog recently tore his gracillus is now undergoing hydrotherapy,he posted the pics on a dog site i go on and his dog absolutely hated it but so did my daugters dog until she went to this ladys pool.i think you have to take time to accustom them to it and not frighten them.dobby loves this now but when she took him to another place to begin with he was terrified.now he cant wait to go again :D |

I keep saying i'm going to take Pegs to one - we have one really close to us and i'm definately going to book. I dont think Peg knows how to swim as the one time I popped her in the lake to get fox poo off - she nearly drowned as she had no idea what to do! I had her on the lead with a ramp so she was fine - but I'd really love for her to learn so she can enjoy the lakes and ocean when we go out with our other water loving doggy friends. |

My neighbour's Lab has just had a major op on her leg and she has now booked her in for a course of hydrotherapy (approx £120) which is supposed to really help. Will let you know how it goes. She has also been told that acupuncture would help but I think that she is just going to concentrate on the Hydrotherapy for the time being. |

i was in agony with repetative strain injury in my wrist last year(too much time on the old pc!)anyway went to my doc who as well as being a gp practises acupuncture, crystal healing, reiki and hypnosis.i had acupuncture and within half an hour the pain had gone. also did my back in year before at a trade show and couldnt breathe without pain.he put two needles into my spine, and gave me some electric shocks(only mild,it sort of tingled)and as soon as i got up off the bed the pain was gone.it did come back a day or so later but by then the antiinflammatories had started to work and i only needed one treatment as it got better within a day or two.the dogs at this pool we are going to on sunday have 2 handlers who have leads on them at all times and the dogs wear inflatable jackets too.daughters taking her racing whippet as he pulled a muscle at a race a few weeks back and hydrotherapy is the quickest way to get it right without putting any strain on it.hes shown improvement already from just the one session.hes going to be ready for the champs at this rate |

well we went swimming this morning and razz has had a blast!shes enjoyed herself so much shes pooped now and has gone to bed!i took loads of pics but ive never downloaded pics on to the pc before(daughters always done it for me)so youll have to bear with me while i read through the instruction book for my camera if i cant do it ill have to ask daughter to come down and do it for me
 Ann is wonderfully patient and is very knowledgeable as well and id recommend her to anyone.razzle had a good few laps of the pool and safety is paramount so shes got two of us holding onto the long leads to make sure shes ok.dobby had a good few laps too and hes really getting into it now.he launches himself off the steps like the QE2! were going again on thursday! :D |
