I'm just pinned this thread as I think it's going to be very relevant as the summer progresses.
Thanks for that doing that Paula.

Just one last thing and then I'm going to shut up about ticks, if using tweezers, please use fine end ones if you've got them. It's much easier to actually pin point the head of the tick rather than placing pressure on its body.

jenna my old labrador got an infected tick, and sadly did get lymes disease, but with a LOT of medication she pulled through, as she was only a puppy it damaged her and when she was old she got bad arthritis, so im really saying to you all PLEASE do check your dogs after a walk through anywhere with long grass or such as you never know.

yh it was touch and go but luckily we found out quick enough

we now check the 3 we have now regurlarly as murphy has long hair and its harder to spot...i was stroking roxy yesterday and felt a HUGE lump literally above her eye! turned out to be a tick, i was so pleased i found it, because it was HUUUUUGE, we got these tick corkscrew removal things and it was the BEST £5 we ever spent, you just hook it round their bodys, and turn anti clockwise and pop out it comes, legs an all!!

here's a website where you can get this little device!

It's worth checking out your local veterinary surgery as often they're sold in the reception area.
