reading this post was as if I was reading about George, well except for the hundreds of acrers and the rats, but I know exactly how you feel, I don't mind him chasing rabbits but would love to get him to come back when i call him. We've been practicing on the beach but s soon as we get near to woods he's off. He always comes back but only when he's ready. feel like I should just get one of those little folding seats and a pipe to relax while I'm waiting!

I love the title of this topic :) I have yet to meet a Patterdale who did not have a mid of his own

Are you around still to update us on progress Richard?

Hi
Yep I'm still here, just had to reset my password as I couldn't log on !!
With being so busy at work and the lack of daylight I've not had much chance to take him out through the day.
I did this morning and let him off after about an hour, we were in a field heading back to the Land Rover, he didn't go far from me and did as he was told, I don't think he was too happy though as he tucked his tail right in.
I'll keep at it though and hopefully he'll improve.
Thanks
Richard

Had a good day today, realised we had a very big pheasant release pen just up from our house, so I went round it and checked the wire, put it back down where it had been lifted and checked it was dog proof. Spent a good couple of hours in there with him. He never strayed too far from me but I'm sure he knew he could'nt get out, I'll keep taking him there for a week or 2 then try him further afield.

Glad things are improving. Still working on Meg, would love a nice big enclosure to practice in! Do keep us updated.
