I have to post this up - I've had Fred two years now and this is the first time this has happened...

Nearly...

And there!

Five minutes later Beauty must have twitched and he lept up with a very strange bark as if he'd been poked with a stick! But it was lovely while it lasted.

Oh Bless! You can see from Fred's ears that he's giving it all a lot of thought can't you!

Yeah, he's not really sure about what he's doing. He's been going up to her more often, but they normally have a very quick play then he wanders off. I wsa shocked to see him sit, then lie down! Beauty was completely relaxed.

He'd recently gone 12 days without being naughty, then we got three little ripples in three days, nothing like what they used to be, but I am staying vigilant.

He is slowly learning to be a good boy!

Here's a couple more photos from my faves.

This one, he stopped and sniffed a patch of sand, wouldn't leave it alone. Then started digging - for a terrier Fred isn't much given to digging, so I got the camera out. He dug and dug until he unearthed some seaweed, then rolled in it! I know dogs have a good sense of smell, but it's the first time I've seen one very obviously dig because they can smell something underground. It's a bit dark because it was our last walk before bed when we were camping at the seaside in August.

Here's the other photo. This is a trailer for a bike, with a 'pram' kit. As he's got the hip dysplasia I thought we'd get this for when we go camping, or all day dog shows. I often pop him into a crate for a sleep when he gets grumpy (and at least I know why he gets grumpy now) so he might as well have a sleep in this while us adults carry on shopping! When the weather is better I will have to train him to sit quietly while moving (not much room in my kitchen!) and Beauty to walk nicely beside it as I think she will be a bit nervous at first.

I dislike seeing small dogs in pushchairs, but at least Fred will have a chance to walk when I chuck him out to fit in all the doggy shopping!

I was really suprised how well he got on with that chariot (as I call it!). He is normally frightened of things on wheels. My dad is going to make me a flat board to fit across the base, as there is gap for kiddies legs. I could have got a proper dog one, but they were about 3 times the price!

That Fred is sure a cutie! Your beauty looks a lot like our late Nyssa. I hope that the two will find comfort in each other more and more now that Fred sees that it isn't such a bad thing. :D

Aww, thanks. He got beaten up by a Weimeramer pup today. I walk her every day, and once a week joins my dogs for a walk. It's been going okay, but today she must have got a bit braver as when I was handing out a few treats cos they all came back when I whistled she went for Fred to warn him off. Something to work on I think! Other doggies are allowed sweeties too!

This is them earlier on the walk where he had the biggest branch he could find and she wanted to know what it was. As you can see, at not quite four months she is already twice his size!
