What a darling dog! Murphy is...a very handsome pure Staffie with loads of character...and sadly loads of time on his hands at the moment, pacing his way around a kennel. What a waste! You meet Murphy and you start to chuckle...he has a soft velvet black coat with brindle leggings; a little wrinkled forehead so easily looks concerned or in expressive laughter! Here he is sporting his winter jacket. He gets on fine with meeting dogs, but probably would prefer to be an only dog as he is very close to family and will want to be central to all goings on. He needs work on getting him comfortable on his own. He settles but what a song and dance on your return! He is vocal with his little Staffie language and his ever so meaningful eyes. He has a very compacted little body with a slightly larger head. And those ears...moving all over the place.

Murphy isn't for cats...oh no...and he'll tell you if he catches sight...but whether he would do harm, not sure! Murphy also engages with his mouth a little in excitement or persuading you not to leave...well controlled, but occasionally you think humm... Murph! So for this reason alone better not to live with young children and better in a 'bull breed' home who understands this about them. We see Murphy in a kennel situation having been found stray. Murphy is highly emotional; a slightly intense Staffie; who adores people and his walks and play. He is kind and loving. He is currently a little more desperate than if he was settled within a family home; Murphy just isn't suited to kennel life. But given the opportunity, with time, he will soon settle and oh he will be absolutely adored as he is by us. Love him!

An update from Murphy's kennels:

What can I say about Murphy? Apart from perfect...just perfect...in his own cheeky way!

His second name now is Piiiiiiigggggggyyyyyy!!!!! Said in a high pitched voice and he comes scuttling up and wiggles his bum for a scratch. I just can't resist him and his recall is so quick! He responds to anything really...Batfink, Piggy, Piglet, Murphy, Murphy-Man. A dog of many talents!

I met the "Murph" yesterday! I walked him with some of our other dogs and a couple of our kindly volunteer dog walkers!

Boy what a little character he is. Some lucky family is going to be continuously amused by his antics. He is just sooooo cute. A wee little bundle of delightful mischief. A when he smiles and shows you his teeth you kind of shake your head in disbelief that this dogs ... is actually smiling at you! His coat is jet black, gleaming and in wonderful condition. In fact his condition is a credit to the kennels and how well looked after he has been.

He walked beautifully with Alfie & Charlie today and again later with Tiger Lily. When he needed to chill a little, he does this funny walk where he lowers himself to the floor and snakes his way along for a bit then flips over for a tummy rub. Well, he had more than one walk today and he has to pace himself a little

Murphy is now in foster and doing very well – here is an update from his fosterers:
Thought it was about time for another Murphy update. We have really enjoyed our time training him. He is definitely more mischievous than Jay Jay was, but I think it gives him more character. He is quite responsive to learning new things tho. We have been socialising Murphy at the local park and he has the best manner when meeting other dogs. He does get a bit excited if on the leash if he has not been exercised and see's a dog, however, calms very quickly once he has met them. It also proves a bit of a recall issue too, however, we are continually working on this and he is getting better daily. Feeding times are now perfect, he waits until we say so patiently which is a major improvement to when we first got him. His energy levels are now a lot more calmer with his daily exercise's contributing to this. His mouthing challenges have greatly improved too he is learning to be more gentle and still wants to groom you all over with his tongue :). Anyway just wanted to say he is such a sweet and loving dog, very bright and just needs the time to learn the rules, which i would give him a A+ for effort and improvement. I have attached some photos of him too. Enjoy.
