Thanks for all your hep and support so far, to bring you all up to speed and to cut to the chase, thankfully Jack doesn’t have a brain tumour… As to the rest well, do I start?

After a hideous night of no sleep thanks Jacks hiccups keeping us all night, we made our way bleary eyed and at the crack of dawn to see the neurologist in Guildford.

After seeing the video (the neurologist could no stress just how valuable and helpful having the video for reference was, so of this happens to you make a video of the event) and giving Jack a through examination it was decided that MRI’s blood tests and a spinal tap were required, so we left the lad…

On our return four and a half hours and two and half thousand pounds later we have some of but not all the answers.

Thankfully the MRI’s show no abnormalities of the brain or spine, sadly due to the bank holiday we will have to wait for the test results of the bloods and spinal tap but the prime suspects are idiopathic epilepsy or meningitis…

Will keep you in the loop but again thanks.

Ouch! MRI's are pricey .....

Glad it's not a tumour and that brain & spine are in order, hopefully next week you should get some answers and guidance on how to move forward. How is his lordship at the moment?

Good news that's there's no tumour present.A shame you have to wait so long for the results, hopefully they will make things clearer for you all. That's a heck of a bill though :err:

His Lordship's half in half out of the kitchen, making his mind up as to whether he needs a poo methinks, he very drowsy all the time but that might be the after affects of the general antistatic or the phenol barbitone he's on as a short-term measure...

Yep the bills a shocker but would have gladly paid twice as much for that result, but as to ongoing treatment will probably have to sell my motorcycle.

ALL OUT THERE NOTE, we used all are Tesco insurance up in one hit, it seemed like enough cover but as soon as you get into the realms of private healthcare it soon evaporates, MAKE sure you have a big enough limit on your cover.

One of my dogs took days and days to throw off the effects of ansethic, so it could well be that. Keeping fingers and paws crossed her for Jack!

Well the results are back. Blood tests clear, Spinal Tap clear, add that to the clear MRI's and we should be happy as Larry... However, Jacks on 45mg of PB (phenol barbitone) per day now, and still having fits, yes there much milder see the video of the new fits, but were both still bloody worried, back to see the vet tomorrow...

Let me know what you think of the milder fits...

:err: oh gosh,it's great that the results are clear - but even more puzzling now as to what is causing the fits, especially given the large dose of PB he's on.Definitely nowhere near as severe as before but why is he still having them.I so hope you can find out and he's back to the way he was before.

Did they tell you what the MRI & Spinal Tap results had ruled out? It's great that they're clear but if you haven't got any further information it must be incredibly frustrating.

Sorry for being a little late on this :D

Hope he's feeling a bit better now. After watching your videos, this is exactly as Yoyo is when he is having an episode. I'm reluctant to call it a fit or a seizure. You might like to check out this thread, it's kind of like a diary, as you can see with a strict diet his episodes are kept pretty much under control :) Link to Yoyo's thread.
