Poor Hettie, get well soon gorgeous girl. :wub: What a long day for you :hug: , I'm sure tomorrow when the anesthetic has worn off she'll feel a lot better, and you too. :flower: Would one of these Comfy Collars freak her out less than a lampshade? Not sure they are that comfy if the dog in the pictures face is anything to go by. |

Just been to the vets for Hettie's check up and they have re-admitted. :no: She seems to be in quite a lot of pain. She let me bathe her drains yesterday afternoon but wouldn't let me touch her last night , she was very unsettled and was moaning and miserable (understanderbly). The vet said she has got very bad bruising and is also taking the drains out today instead of Saturday to see if that makes her any more comfortable. She is also having a bed bath and they are going to give her some strong painkiller to help with her discomfort. So once again I am asking for your good thoughts for my little girl. Here's hoping she's feeling much better when she comes home later. |

She came home just after lunch. They have given me 6 syringes of vetergesic and she has got to have 1 of those every 8-12 hours depending on how she seems,this drug is apparently like morphine so she should be more comfortable. She doesn't seem to be at the moment she is still moaning and seems uncomfortable. Going to see how she goes tonight and if she doesn't seem any brighter I will ring the vets in the morning. The comfy collar came today as well and she seems better in that as she can go out into the garden on her own. She is a bit better today (thankfully!). We had to go back to the vets on Friday as she was quite unwell very restless and crying, but the vets couldn't give her anything elae as they said she was already drugged up to the eyes.The bruising on her tummy was very bad though and her belly was a bit fluidy but the vet said that it should be ok.She is happier today so hopefully after a difficult week she is well on the road to recovery. We are back at the vets tomorrow for another check up and then hopefully stitches should be out a week on Tuesday. :)

Glad things sound a bit better. Poor girl, it's no wonder she feels uncomfortable but it's so hard when there's nothing much you can do to help. |
