I just wanted to pop along and say hello!! I currently volunteer for Four Paws Animal Rescue South Wales and I heard about Terrier Talk when we held our photo competition.

I am absolutly mad about terriers and I became the Terrier foster carer for a while. I have my own "terror" Ninja who is a Parsons Jack Russell and recently adopted a complete mix breed called Samson who is not a terrier but we are not exactly quite sure what he is :err:

Its lovely to see a site dedicated to the most mad breed in the world :woohoo: but the question is does that make us mad too?

I'm in lurve with Ninja. Please send him my way if you ever get bored with him (as if you'll EVER get bored with a terrier!!)

A very warm welcome to TT to all 3 of you. I have very fond memories of South Wales (Swansea, Mumbles, Gower) as my first boyfriend at Uni came from down there and we shared some fantastic holidays with his family. Loved everything about the place, with the possible exception of lava bread.

Sam's facial profile says whippet to me. I'd recommend the Book of The Mutt which suggests possible breed combinations given certain markers eg bone lengths, ear and tail shapes/styles.

Ninja is beautiful! Wonderful looking dog! Samson's colouring reminds me of my old dog Buster, and also a dog I walk called Conrad. Buster's face was nearly black when he was young, the tan came in later. Both dogs have GSD in their line, probably not pure in any immediate ancestors.

Appalling photo, but you can see the colouring - must have been about 4/5 here.

Older and greyer, so not much use, but I love him, so tough! :p

And Conrad

ETA He looks very much like a lurcher, which I picked up on from his back legs of all things. Can we have another shot? :D

I am glad you have fallen in love with Ninja, he is completely the light of my life! I used to pride my self on being a good dog trainer until I had a Jack!!! :err: The most I can get out of him is 'sit' and 'in your bed' !! i am lucky that hes such a good natured soul considering how stubborn he can be  !

Hi Red Rascal I remember seeing your bundle of fun on our photo comp xxx

Samson really looks a lot like Buster, they have the same big ears. We think there is definatly GSD in there by the shape of his snout and I also think there is a bit of lurcher but the OH says he doesnt think so! Here is a standing up one of him :D

piwoodhouse: I went to uni in swansea too, I would love to go back someday very fond (but alcohol related) memories :ok:

Right off to a well known book selling site to buy the mutt mix book :D
