just quick question for the experienced owners out there.... I've noticed sicnce its got hotter george isn't eating very much at all and he seems slimmer than before. His coat is very shiny, his pooh is normal, he had as much energy as usual so I was wondering if terriers do this kind of thing in response to the hot weather - kind of like tigers do.... Harry is eating as much, if not mroe than usual because he finishes Georges off too. My sister has noticed her westie has also cut down on his food too. I'm not worried about him at all because he does look the picture of health, jsut wondering..... Thanks |

Digesting food = expending energy which automatically raises body temperature - not eating so much is natures way of trying to keep the body cool!

I haven't noticed Fred eating any less, but he's permanently on a low-calorie diet anyway so is probably starving all the time! |

Needless to say Daisy isn't affected in this way but yes Duncan has occasionally left his meal,he will often eat it just before bed if I offer it so guessing it's the heat. |

none of mine are eating their normal rations, im throwing a lot of freshly cooked food away.dont want to keep it down as it attracts flies.its normal for this heat for them not to want to eat as much |
