Has been in the house since Sunday, and I'm pretty sick of it, let me tell you! Max (daxie boarder) came down with it on Sunday night, Fred caught up by Tuesday night, and even Beauty did an enormous poo in the kitchen on Wednesday night. Only Fred seems to be really suffering, and is still puking and crapping what now looks a bit like jam. It's the same consistency and maroon! So we're off to the vet. I'm sure they will say keep starving him, I think Max got over it sooner as he was refusing his food, although I did find some sick in his bed earlier that I had obviously missed from my early morning check, and that was a delightful green! So maybe he is still not quite right. His bedding was washed yesterday, so could have been overnight, although his poop is back to normal. I'm taking Fred in because of the blood - although I'm pretty sure it's just the lining has been irritated, it must be getting quite painful and of course he can't have his HD tablets without food. Right, time to go, hope to have some good news when I get back! |

hmm, apparently it was just normal gastro thingy, but because he's on carprofen that irritated his stomach and has made it so much worse - he was going the right way to developing a stomach ulcer. Lovely. Nobody told me that it should be stopped if he's sick! Interestingly he said he thought Fred was in more pain on right leg than left, but that he'd like to see the xrays. We had to go to a private vet as the PDSA couldn't see us until about Wednesday! |

Neither of them looked miserable at all, running around like loonies still. It wasn't until I starved Fred and the blood started coming through that he became a bit subdued. Normally I cope very well, as Max was fine after couple of days, but Fred is passing 'jelly' so was a bit worrying! Nothing overnight, but he went off and hid in the garden this morning so I couldn't check out what he was doing. He seems to have got very shy about his pooping! He's got antibitotics and something to lower the acid in his stomach. He's like a little old man with his bad legs and ulcer. |
