I wish we did Earthdog & Barnhunt in this country (obviously our terriers do both in their working lives but neither are offical events in the same way as you do in North America); everything I ever heard about it sounds such good fun. Well done on your puppy matches, were you up against pro handlers - you've got some biggy's in California and I understand that dress is "very" smart and it's apparently v. hard to win against them. It's not as dressy in the UK, sure some of the handlers are v. smart, but the older terrier men tend to be tweedy but it's not unusual to see someone at a champ show in a sweatshirt & comfy trousers. I know two american friends of mine went to Sweden and they couldn't get over folks wearing vest tops/shorts in the ring at a major show! |
