Just wondered if anyone on here takes their dogs to Hydrotherapy? Milo went for the first time today, bless him he was terrified at first but got used to it gradually, they're gonna try him without hold him next week to see if he tries to get out - bet he does! Couldn't believe how tired they get - he only had 2.5 mins in the pool and he was shattered!!!

My neighbour took her Lab following an operation on her leg and she had wonderful results with it. She went weekly for quite a long time and was quite upset when the treatment ended.

I bring Rascal for fun swims from time to time, here's a link to a thread I posted some photo's of him swimming, as you can see by his face he's not really amused and definitely doesn't find it fun. If it wasn't in the back of a pet store with loads of delicous treats I'd have trouble getting him through the door, he only puts up with it because he gets a bone chew after each session.

I often meet dogs coming out when we're on our way in, and they love it, one lady who did bring her GSD for medical reasons brings him every second saturday now for a treat as he loved it so much.

Hopefully Milo will get used to it and begin to enjoy it :crossedfingers:

ah just read that - he looks like he's enjoying it a lot more than milo did! Whereabouts do you take him. I'm gonna ring up a different place tomorrow as the one i took him to is at a boarding kennels and he has to walk past all the dogs to get to the pool. The lady didn't go in with him - that's a good idea i think as might have made him a little more settled.

I take Rascal swimming in Welling, just outside London in Kent. It costs £20 for twenty minutes, although like Milo the first session he did a lot less time and has built up to the 20 minutes, but still does a few minutes then a break and then repeats it.

Rooroo, a full pool for the dogs to swim in sounds great :yippee: , will go looking for the link of Razzle going mad diving in and having great fun. :D

Rascal would have a heart attack if I put him in a big pool, he such a baby in water  and acts like I'm killing him by making him go in a small one, with a life jacket and instructor.
