Typical, it was all going sooo smoothly! Hadnt noticed anything wrong with her wound yesterday, took her for her 3 day check up today and didnt look at it before we took her to be honest, the vet felt her belly and stuff but also dont think he actually looked at the wound.

Just looked at it now (try not too look at it too much as it draws attentionm to it and she licks it!) and its a little bit chewed, can see a stitch has broken free, but not too worried about the wound itself, more that she has a bit red rash on the shaved bit above the wound....typically I cant take her to the vet now until monday now and should have checked this morn incase it was there then for the vet to look at it!!

The pics not that good, but can you see the rash? Any ideas anyone?

Could be a reaction to being shaved Nic,I know when Daisy was done she found the new hairs growing through quite itchy - or maybe a reaction to the antiseptics used to wash her beforehand? Just keep an eye on it and maybe pop back to vet if it bothers her, nice neat little scar too

Looks like a shave rash to me, which is common. But as always, if in doubt - ask the vet!

Looks like she's sore where they shaved her. You could try rubbing a small amount of sudocrem on it - or, thanks to another member here, get some dried marigold petals and make a tea out of them, when its cooled dab it on her skin - its amazing stuff. When Dolly was spayed she pulled all of her stitches out within 2 days so i went to tesco, kids clothing section, basic white t-shirt £1.50 - a lifesaver, stopped her licking/chewing it.

Thanks everyone, this was my guess too about the shaving rash. I am keeping a eye on it, put some aloe vera gel on it yest and doesnt seem so itchy today. Hopefully by tomorrow it'll look much better if she keeps not itching it today.

She is absolutly bouncing off the walls with energy from not being walked tho :hyper:

Oh bless her! Boo went crazy from lack of running after her spay - the first time I took her out which was days later she set off at a mad gallop down the river path only to bump into our vet ..... very embarasing indeed. Especially as we'd had a telephone row about the type of anesestic he'd used ....

Meg got a rash like that from the antisceptic wipes they used when hey microchipped her. Marigold works wonders, or lavender (I use lavender for everything!) How long does she have to be on lead? Must admit I've never kept mine in as long as the vet says  drives em crazy!

It looks very patchy now, but def less itchy. The earliest I can take her to vet is Thurs as Im at college and appointment is sat, so unless it gets really bad I think its on the mend and can wait till sat.
Sat is 10 days and she can go off lead. I would let her off earlier, but then again I have to walk 15/20 mins to the park as its the nearest place in the dark I can let her off lead, which there and bk and running around is a bit too long. So she'll prob end up waiting till sat and then she can go craaazzzyyyyyyy :yay: :hyper:
