Masters tournament at Area51
February 9 at 1pm; registration opens at 11:30
Steamroller 2013 Master scenarios and rules: http://privateerpress.com/files/Masters_2013_Rules.pdf
Deathclock timers
Players required to use three 50pt character restricted lists with the Divide and Conquer list variant.
$10 entry fee (all going to first/second/third place prize support)

This is the masters format used in many national tournaments. Give deep thought to your lists and bring your 'A' game because you'll need it against the brutal players we have in North Texas.

Deployment will be done separate to deathclock and I will drop the green flag to start each round.

Rounds will be dependent upon participants

Bring your phones/devices to use as deathclock timers. I will have iPhone chargers available for use. Recommended app for iPhones (free): iGameClock.

I encourage non-veteran players to give this a shot, but only if you have a BIG pair. Every victory should be a point of pride.

I do not like planning ahead. I prefer the perfect move for the moment. The rest is up to my dice.

Round 1 - Don's curse made a good effort to take me down, but I barely won against Dan because my Scythean was 1/4'' inside of contesting a zone. It's always a fun game with Dan, and in a few ways I think the game should have been his.

Round 2 - Don's curse stuck when I set pIrusk on fire, and then immediately cast Purification with eVayl. As it turns out, purification removes fire. Got rolled by infantry. How the hell does Legion kill infantry anyway? I want my storm striders back.

Round 3 - Randy cast "Curse of the Don". Jarl ranged assassinated pThags by popping his feat clouds on a tower that I thought I was safe behind, and then let the Sons of brag range assault me. To recap: pThags, with Spiny Growth, and fury for transfers, behind a building and behind another wall, was range assassinated by trolls.

Round 4 - Three seasoned pork carnita tacos are only $4.50 next door to Area 51. They also offer Mexican Coke, which pairs well with the tacos. 4/5 stars.
You need to have a talk with Thags and tell him not to catch the barrels the bomber throws to him.

Just remembered my tourney highlight. Faking Zach out with a "you need to forfeit this round" call. Don's curse would have been awesome if I actually made him drop.

Randy was cracking me up calling me over and tattling on Zach. I decided to run with Randy's humor and ply it out. Zach's face was priceless when he thought I was really going to make him forfeit the round for placing a model after deployment...then for having an unapproved proxy. Randy actually told me later thay he believed me also and thought "oh shit, didn't mean for that to happen" ... Then I couldn't keep a straight face though. Damnit. Zach's stunned 'oh shit' was awesomely funny.

Just remember that Zack is the PG for the store, so retaliation will occur.

My evil side laughed at the whole situation, especially after I killboxed myself in that one tournament and Zack ragged on me for it.

My super evil side thinks Zack is a very handsome man and feels sorry for him that people are picking on him and hopes that he doles out some revenge justice at the next tournament. not really, but hey, maybe Zack can me schmoozed

I can't help it if he was cheating all over the place! You wanted this thing to be a masters level event and I wasn't going to let him tarnish that with his shenanigans.

He was totally a sheister. I'm on your side with this Randy. He's lucky I felt like sucking up to our store's press ganger. Placing models after deployment, proxying shepherds with spawning vessels ... he even left his big trogs in the car until he conveniently needed them. Sooooo shady. Can't believe he pulled that shit and got away with it. Shame on the tournament organizer.
