Masters tournament at Area51
February 9 at 1pm; registration opens at 11:30
Steamroller 2013 Master scenarios and rules: http://privateerpress.com/files/Masters_2013_Rules.pdf
Deathclock timers
Players required to use three 50pt character restricted lists with the Divide and Conquer list variant.
$10 entry fee (all going to first/second/third place prize support)

This is the masters format used in many national tournaments. Give deep thought to your lists and bring your 'A' game because you'll need it against the brutal players we have in North Texas.

Deployment will be done separate to deathclock and I will drop the green flag to start each round.

Rounds will be dependent upon participants

Bring your phones/devices to use as deathclock timers. I will have iPhone chargers available for use. Recommended app for iPhones (free): iGameClock.

I encourage non-veteran players to give this a shot, but only if you have a BIG pair. Every victory should be a point of pride.

I do not like planning ahead. I prefer the perfect move for the moment. The rest is up to my dice.

I don't know if we have any coin sets left at Area51, but since this tourney will be hard fought and tough to win, I want to add one for first place... to go with the cash prize.

Ill put up one of my own up if we have at least 16 participants. Hopefully the store has a set to raid though. Those things are tough to come by in this region.

If faction coins are up for grabs I'm playing mercs. If not, the Swans are going to come out to play.

Unlikely faction coins are available. Area 51 might have a set, but from my understanding they were handed out last faction coin event.

Faction coins are only available for stores to pick up during the book release events (Colossal Event, Gargantuans in March) and then only specific to Warmachine or Hordes factions based on the book release.

Short sum up: Don't plan to play for faction coins.

Yeah, faction coins are only for book release events...I'm chasing a steamroller champion coin.

How will this tournament interact with the league? I presume not at all?

This tournament will have zero impact on the league. Stay tuned for more, waiting to confirm a few things before I begin publicizing details.

Leagues and tournaments are usually not related, unless its one of those super fun finales to close the league.

Some of our players requested that i run a higher point, ultra-competitive format, so the Saturday tourney is for players that like to bounce around to the larger national/regional tourneys and tighten up their skills, like gencon/lock and load/clash for a cure/various warmachine weekends/Coal and Claw/etc...

Well, since you happened to mention a tourney that is very near and dear to me...I'm going to try to make it up there. Who am I kidding...I planned on trying after I read the intro post. Should be able to make the drive. 4 rounds?

Apollo, is there anything us out-of-towners need to do beforehand? I have Jimmy, myself, and Shane all interested. Just didn't want to show up and without a spot.

We can fit 50 so no worries at all for space or pre-registration. Turnout will have an effect on prize support only... logistically we are golden.

Ill send a formal email to everyone this week with details.

Just to confirm Apollo,

1. 50 pts, so 3-lists
2. Divide & Conquer still
3. Rounds depend on number of players
4. Deathclock/chess clock setting. Any additional time for deployment or we waiting on everyone to finish deploying and your word to go.
5. We cannot pause the clocks for any reason. (I'm bolding this for all players who read to understand). A judge has to be called over to make the decision.
5b. Whenever a player has to make a decision (roll dice, decide something like eHaley's feat turn, marks damage, etc) timing is on them.
