Captain's log #312 ... (sry, had to do that )"We've caught one of them and the others followed.Just as planed, but it still seems too easy.Knowing the groups rep, chance's were close to zero of them falling for this..." Ash moaned and opened his eyes.A huge headache stroke. -'Bout time you woke.-A familiar female voice spoke behind him.-Last time we follow your plan. -Hey!It worked in movies.-He answered, turning to Trish. -Damn it,Ash,you can be such a retard sometimes. Now hold still.-She said, while sinking her hands into her hair. -Why? Another familiar, low tone voice spoke from the other side of the chamber. -She's gonna get that collar off from your neck so you can get us out of here using your wind powers. Ash turned towards the voice. Thanks to the complete darkness,Ash was able to see who that was perfectly. -Caleb? -The one and only.-Caleb answered, before Ash's collar smacked on the ground. Ash sprung up joyfully. -How'd you do that?-He asked. Trish smirked showing him a hair pin. -Old designs always work these days. Upon closer inspection you could see it had nanotech routes, but Ash came to that conclusion by himself. He tried to blow the cell door, but couldn't even create a small gust.He tried collecting wind around him once more and failed again. He cursed. -S**t...Are we in space? Caleb sighed. -And I hoped we haven't gone into orbit yet. Suddenly an alarm sounded."Hull breach!Hull breach! All personnel must help to close off the breached area and secure the safety of the crew as well as any passengers.I repeat:hull breach!Hull breach!..." The message kept on looping.Probably due to that, all the cell doors opened.Caleb walked out and looked around.Relief came over him. -Seems we're the only ones here. -Good for us,I guess.Wonder what caused the breach?-Trish asked. -Who cares?!We should try to get the hell outta dodge as fast as we can!-Ash exclaimed. -First,lets get the 'cuffs and collars off,huh?-Caleb suggested the obvious. And so they did.By the time they also had tied a piece of cloth around Ash's head,so if there were light in the next room,he could cover his eyes.As they came upon the cell block exit, the doors opened automatically.Yet again, probably due to the breach.Ash immediately pushed the piece of cloth down on his eyes. Two crew men were there, typing in some commands in their consoles. -Hull breaches in sectors 3,5 and 13.What the hell's going on?!There are no enemy ships around us! -As well as no allies, dammit! But what I don't understand is how the hell could there be flames in the breached areas?!There's no freakin' oxygen. -There it was again! -What? -A shadow!I saw it every time a breach was to follow! "Another hull breach in sector 11." -I told you so.-The same man continued. It was now that the other one noticed Ash,Trish and Caleb. -Wh-who are you?! But not a second passed as the two of them were engulfed by tongues of flame.Thankfully, another hull breach didn't open. -What.The hell. Was that?-Ash asked. -Who cares?!Don't look a gift horse in the mouth!Lets try and find some guns.-Trish exclaimed as she ran through the burnt hole in the wall. "Why does this presence feel so familiar? But whoever it is,it's long gone from this sector..." Edited by Rockfall, Wed May 4, 2011 11:58 pm.

The doors creaked slowly, torturing the ears of a waking creature. Centuries, ages, and her eyes stayed closed, her ears stayed deaf to the world, her body lying deep within the boundaries of the earth. After these centuries someone awoke her. Someone, or some thing. The world she woke in had a lot of unknown scents, thoughts and it felt utterly different. The red eyes fluttered open, cold gaze falling upon a metal being that opened the door. She could hardly move, her body dry and lifeless, hardly seeming human at all. The robotic being approached her almost furiously fast and bowed in a nervous manner "Greetings, Lilith, queen of the undead. I come to end your life and suffering." a robotic voice sounded and a laser quickly zapped the place she lay on. The metal creature put the gun down and clicking sounds were heard for a moment "Mission accomplished. Target nowhere in sight after impact." a robotic voice sounded, then the creature turned round and left, leaving the door open. Lilian jumped down from the ceiling, black hair scattering around her dried up skeletal face. She needed to feed. And fast. The once onyx black dress almost fell down from her body when the bony legs took a step outside. The sky was dark, or darkened, there were no stars in it and after watching for a minute in curiosity, she noticed that it moved. It was a spaceship. Her eyes coldly watched the thing lift up from the ground and after a moment she went back to search for a meal. She walked out slowly and cautiously, knowing little of this world, following the first scent of a human she could. Her senses led her to a small town, but the houses were all white and seemed to have no doors or windows. The man she scented was walking down the street with a metal dog. Amusement for the rich. In a few seconds the dog was left barking mechanically and the man swapped away, dried out and left beneath a tree outside of town. The young body breathed in, feeling the essence of energy rush through the veins, life coming back to every part of her body. The long black hair curled perfectly on her back, the slim and slightly childish fingers fixed a silver scythe pendant that dangled on her chest. The soft skin ran through a blood red ruby that was now on the scythe and the blood red tongue licked the pale lips in eagerness. "Good morning, planet earth." escaped the girls lips and she turned her gaze up to the skies "You changed so much since I left you..." - Ever wonder why were we placed to escort immortals? - a low female voice spoke, something shuddered in the distance. - Because we're under orders, Leila! - another female voice replied muttering, then a clicking and bumping sound was heard. - I know, but... Why would immortals need human guards? I can't think of anything else, but a snack theory, Mary. And it doesn't sound too inviting. Sends shivers down my spine when those demons walk beside me, eying my body with those cold hungry eyes... - Oh shut up. They have plenty of so called snacks, why would they want us? The conversation seemed to be over as they both silenced for a while. A dark figure creeped in the shadows, red eyes scanned the perimeter again and again, all of the senses heightened and tensed. - Excuse me, would you escort me to the dining hall?... - a young girl asked, appearing in the doorway. Two females sat on the floor, holding their guns. One of them quickly stood up, her dark skin severely contrasting with white hair. The other one was smaller, but seemed tougher in spirit than the first, able to show disrespect and disgust for an immortal, though never questioned her orders. - Yes, miss.- the smaller one said, clearly hating her for being immortal. The trio slowly walked through the hall in an unpleasant silence. The smaller one, obviously Mary, constantly glanced over her shoulder at the escorted one. A strange feeling didn't leave her. The young woman seemed perfectly fine for an immortal, but sent strange vibes, her calmness irritating the soldier and making her feel helpless. - We're here, miss... - Mary said, obviously asking for the immortals identity. - Thank you, Mary. - she only replied, slowly opening the door and then closing it behind her. - Something's not right... - the small woman said to her partner. - You're telling me... Did you feel it? That power emmiting from her whole being... Brr, I hope I'll never see her again... - Wait! That's it! I never saw her enter the ship! - the younger female shouted and kicked the door open, then suddenly turned away, her eyes full of fear. The dark-skinned one couldn't hold her stomach and hurled her dinner onto the floor. All the walls were decorated with flesh and insides, a slow and distant moaning heard. All of the immortals were still alive, but torn into peaces. The floor was moving in endless agony and pain and on top of it all stood the one vampire they escorted to here, her gentle white hands holding a head, that was still attached to the lungs. - I went to sleep, left you to do as you please, but still you send someone to destroy me. - the red eyes shone slightly, her stance, though calm, showed to the world that she was pissed. Very pissed. - My queen... - the head somehow managed to slither with little sound, the vampire's eyes rolling in pain, his brain seemed unable to understand anything of what was happening. - "My queen" my ass. - the vampiress answered coldly. - You didn't even bother to come kill me yourself. - she said, throwing what was left of the body to the ground. - Worthless peace of flesh. I should rip you apart and put your peaces into containers for my own amusement, watching you suffer... But I don't have time for that, do I...? - she smiled, looking at the two humans. Mary suddenly aimed at her, she didn't know what to do in confusion. The vampiress slowly walked to her, painfully slowly. Mary's hands shook in fear and confusion, still aiming at her. Lilian slowly lowered the gun in front of her and looked the woman in the eyes - I need to know more about this world, Mary. And you will help me... - she said and carefully sunk her fangs into the woman's neck. Leila screamed in fear and anger, aimed at the vampiress, but before the bullets could reach the immortal they were stopped by a huge spinning scythe. The red glowing eyes fixed on whoever interrupted her meal with sheer irritation. - Let go of her, b***h! - Leila shouted with tears in her eyes, fearfully watching how the dead body slumped down to the cold metal ground. - ARRRRHHHH! - she shouted sending a cloud of bullets towards the vampiress. - Stop it, you have no chances against me. - Lilian said calmly evading the bullets. - I. DON'T. CARE. - the woman shouted, and the bullets ended. She shouted and lunged at Lilian, swinging her gun like a mallet, but it was suicide to begin with. Lilian walked to the escape pods, already knowing what she was doing, and set the course back to Earth. She had to find him. She had to know. The sun shone brightly through the darkened porthole, the blue planet was calmly drifting around it. Lilian took a deep breath. The space was calm, almost inviting. - There is no place like home... - she whistled smiling softly at the beautiful view. Gray eyes watched the person that sat in front of him indifferently, his pale hand spinning the wine in the glass, the sharp nails slightly tinkling onto the surface. The silence was tense, and the person in front of him slightly shivered. - So... - the demon broke the silence, the human twitched from the sudden noise - ... You came to bother my solitary and calm existence just to erase someone's memory... - he said. The human shivered even more, looking at the spinning whine in his glass. The demon put it down after a moment, noticing that the human didn't quite hear him. The human suddenly twitched again, cold sweat running from his forehead. - I-i-i'm sorry, I'm here on orders, please don't eat me! - the young man shouted, squirming. The demon's face seemed to still have no expression. - My hunger is satisfied, I don't crave torture. - he said, leaning his chin on his hands - Now I'm only interested in one thing. Is it that the information is so important that it's possible to use it against the SciReCo (Scientific Research Corporation, aka SRC) without knowing it, or is it that the person who has it has a grudge on the biggest corporation on Earth? - he asked coldly, slightly smiling. - I-i-i don't know. They didn't tell me. I'm only here to t-try to make you consider doing this job. As far as I know they sent five of us to different demons... - the human said, lowering his head to the demon nervously. - Only five? This must really be something. Fine, I'm considering his job, now go and come back only if others don't take it. - Yes sir! - the boy said, saluting him and ran out as quick as he could. Lucifus sighed, leaning back on the chair and taking the glass into his hand, spinning it again. - Is it just me, or something interesting is going on in this world? What do you think, Damian?... - he asked nothingness, but that soon changed; a skinny person came out from what seemed the wall - I think that you're right, but was it necessary to get involved with humans?... - he said, the silence that followed gave him a clear answer. - Should I investigate?... - he asked, sitting on the table, his expressionless face seemed to stay unchanged. - Don't overdo it. I somehow sense that we'll meet our old friends soon. - he said, a smile scattered across his face - And I am very eager to meet them. |

Something called him now.He was trying to free himself from these chains for hell knows how long and only NOW he was called?"Took ya' long enough,dammit..."In a dark room was a metal box shut tight. In it,a handle of a sword, which takes it's wielders soul as sacrifice. But if the wielder is deserving or strong enough to tame it...Or both...An almost unlimited power opens up to the wielder. To be true to those few facts, the only limit is the wielder himself. And there it was, that handle. It lay in that metal box, which was in a dark room. The room is part of a spaceship which is in orbit.Darkness all around it. He felt it all.And as the chains started to crack and brake, molecule by molecule that came out of nowhere,a blade started to form.Slowly they swirled from the handle.Once it was complete, two black small snakes swirled around the blade and its' edges, stopping at its' middle,a small rhombus shaped hole appearing between their heads. The box blasted open and the sword levitated out of it.Waves of energy started emanating from it,soon becoming a whirlwind. As soon as they formed, shadows engulfed them and out of those shadows a face emerged. Two dark green eyes shone, the left one being a clear 1/3 of brown.A vertical scar went above and below it and a small horizontal one was under the right one.As his face became visible,a frown covered it. -Well,s**t.I'm in "Star Wars". A man emerged from the black whirlwind, which upon that disappeared, revealing the huge sword now held in his hand. The man's clothes were a set made out of a black tank-top,cargo pants and combat boots. He also wore a dark brown "duster coat",which was torn a bit at the behind near the shoulders.Through it a scabbard's top was seen. Its' belt went under the coat from the right shoulder to the waist at the left side.He sheathed the sword and stepped towards the door.Since they didn't open by simply pushing,he kicked them out.The kick was so strong, that the door upon hitting the glass cracked it a bit,but just enough to destabilize the oxygen-friendly environment. An alarm sounded.Cain smirked. -To whom the bells toll...-He said, taking an immediate left turn. As he walked,he pulled the sword out just a few centimetres and cut the way-too-long hair lock."F**k it.I don't really want it hitting me in the face while at zero gravity." Trish,Ash and Caleb were running down the corridors. From time to time they came upon piles of bodies burnt to a crisp, melted sealing hatches and a bunch of other signs that obviously showed someone very pissed was running around the ship with them. They had already passed the armoury sometime ago and Trish already held dual automatics,Ash had a simple pistol and saw-knife hybrid thing and Caleb carried the heavy stuff:a machine-gun ,a belt that had five huge batteries attached for powering it and a pair of safely packed explosive charges.During their tour they conveniently came upon a few high level access cards. It was as if someone had just left them there for the taking. The only thing missing were silver plates. As they skid around yet another corner, the scenery changed. They stopped to analyse it.Now,instead of burnt bodies of crew-members there lay pieces of metal limbs.Ones ended in crude replications of fingers, others were weaponry extension. As they moved, those details blurred into a bigger picture. No human corpses, just piles and piles of metal. -Are they all out of human canon fodder?-Ash asked,a bit nervous. -I think it's more of "getting closer to the bridge" situation, than lack of combat trained crew.-Caleb answered.-Anyway,this means we're getting further from the escape pods. -Erm,shouldn't we turn back then?-Ash asked, confused again. -No.-Trish answered sternly.-By following this trail we'll find answers to what the heck's going on sooner or later. -That,and I'd rather we not leave someone this destructive a chance to escape the ship. Ash laughed slightly. -How deep does the rabbit hole go,huh? Edited by Rockfall, Thu Jan 12, 2012 2:28 am.

- Lucifer, I think I found something interesting - a vampire said, appearing from behind the same wall. It was clear now that there was a hidden room behind it. - Don’t call me by that name, how many times have I told you that?... – the demon answered, irritatingly turning to the bloodsucker. - Not much, only fifty three times counting this one. – the vampire answered as seriously as ever. The demon sighed, looking at him from below, the gray eyes scanning whatever he held in his hand. - So, what is it?... – Lucifus asked, standing up and taking out a long black cigarette from his shirt pocket and placing it between his lips, turning away from the vampire and pointlessly walking a few steps forward. - Nothing much… This is a chip that contains an artificial mind of a demon. Lucifus almost choked on his breath, turning around swiftly with fear and confusion in his eyes - So far they’ve been able to create artificial demons and vampires from a human body and mind… Me being the proof of it. Seems they finally found a way to create an artificial demon essence. – the vampire said. Lucifus walked to him and looked at the little shiny object in Damien’s hands, his own shaking hands reaching for it. - An artificial mind of a demon… - he whispered, almost respectfully, taking the chip carefully and as if hypnotized he sat down, just looking at it. Damien looked down at him with somewhat envy, almost unable to control the urge to take that chip and break it. Why? He had no idea. - Damien… How does it work? – he asked, lighting up his cigarette and putting the chip on the table, his eyes still on the shiny little metal block. - Basically it’s a demon soul trapped in a bunch of metal and gemstones. - What’s used?... - Gold, silver, plutonium, inconel 625, titanium; diamond, ruby, sapphire, amethyst and opal dust; ancient demon language markings and for it to be alive and used it needs three atomic engines as a core. - By all gods… How can someone create immortality from one that already is immortal?... – he asked slowly, turning away and thinking. – I think we will be searching for them ourselves, this needs to be stopped. – he then said with a serious frown – Get ready, we’re going back to the surface. – he said, standing up and walking to a wall, pressing his hand on it. A view of Earth opened, stars shining above them brightly. The demon looked long at the blue planet, a slim smoke rising from the tip of the cigarette. ”You were right, there is no end to this, even when you think you can ignore everything…” he sighed, going away and dressing in a long black coat, a few knives on the inside of it and his hands stopped on a metal cylinder. He slowly took it out, looking at it with a smile, then pressed on it slightly and it turned into a long double-sided metal spear, the blades on the different sides of it going almost to the handle. The demon smiled as he saw Damian walk out with a back-pack in his hand, a rare interested smile on his face. - Where to, boss? – he asked, shoving the backpack over his shoulder. - Let’s pay a little visit to our long-term friend, shall we?.. – the demon smiled and the both suddenly disappeared, only some ashes fell to the ground slowly where Lucifus stood. Silence covered the little satellite ship, disturbed by nothing in the empty space. Small fast steps echoed in a mansion-like underground, disturbing an ancient silence with the sudden presence. - I need to find a certain half-breed, Ger. I won’t take no for an answer. – a high female voice resounded in the halls, her steps slowing down and finally stopping. – How much longer will I have to play this game, demon?... – she asked irritated. - My, my, what eagerness… - a voice came from the walls – have they woken you too harshly, dear?... – the voice laughed, mockingly. Lilian seemed to get even more pissed, her hands clutching into little fists. - I didn’t come here to be mocked by the likes of you… - she hissed, her eyes seemed to fire up slightly. - Yes, yes, I know… But of what use am I to someone like you?... – he asked, finally taking form a few steps away in front of her. – You hold the power of all vampires inside you, why would you need me to search for anyone?... – he asked with a wicked smile on his slim face. - Because I want to share the responsibility. – she said, taking the little red ruby from the eye of her scythe. The demon curiously approached, his interested gaze eying the little gem with a somewhat hunger. - Oh, what a pleasant surprise, vampire queen… - he said, the empty white eyes looking straight at her and for a moment she thought she was talking with a huge beast that is the darkness itself. – You have come for advice, not to find a certain person… He disappeared again, leaving her standing there alone. The vampiress, took a deep breath and put the gem back into the scythe pendant, hating how this demon spoke in riddles. - You’ll have to find the right person yourself. Nexus is dead. – she heard his voice resound in the halls. Her heart seemed to stop permanently at those words. She cursed herself for being so foolish to believe little changed in the world of unnaturals. The sudden knowledge of his death struck her more than she could have imagined, a sole tear running down her cheek. She stood there for a while, looking into nothingness before turning away and walking back. She stopped at the exit, sitting down to the ground and thought long and hard before standing up again and walking away, still not knowing where she should begin her search. |

The ship was shaken by an explosion. -The hell was THAT?!-Ash exclaimed immediately after regaining composure. -This is the Captain speaking. The infiltrated enemy has destroyed one of the thrusters and energy cores. The explosion destroyed most,if not all escape pods on the left side of the ship.-A rugged voice sounded through the ship.-Those who are still alive...Please try to evacuate with those on the right side... The message was interrupted by screams, crashes, gun shots and minor explosions. The same voice muttered. -The enemy reached the bridge...May God help us all... Trish cursed. -We're almost at the bridge ourselves.-Caleb said.-Lets hurry. -Agreed.-Trish nodded. It didn't take long until Cain got used to swinging his sword again. The pathetic combat abilities of the crew started irritating him and at some point he sheathed the sword and continued tearing them with bare hands. That was until he started encountering the mechanical ones."I might actually brake a sweat here."Cain thought smirking as he cut down yet another huge humanoid robot. He kept shadow walking through the whole ship, ending up in a room with a small passage way leading to an oval shaped area with a console. The walls near it were made out of thick glass, but what caught his eye was a huge round vibrating thing behind it.He looked around the room soon spotting a "left reactor room" sign.A wide smile appeared in his face. His sword went aflame, the armour appearing as usual, tearing through his coat's sleeves.Of course, the upper part at the back of the coat was also torn apart due to wings. He shot forward, shattering the glass and cutting through the reactor in a bee-line with little effort.Afterwards,he immediately merged with the shadows and reappeared on the other side of the ship.As the explosion sounded and shook the whole ship,a message sounded.A person who announced himself as the Captain of this ship stated that the one of the thrusters and energy cores were destroyed."Heh,guess two birds with one stone." Cain thought, smirking yet again. Looking around once more revealed certain key aspects of the place he was in:the "Captain's bridge" sign and the enormous amount of enemies surrounding him. -Drop your wea-...-Someone started. -Shut the f**k up!-Cain exclaimed as he lifted his sword side-ways and the flames engulfed everything around. Everyone living screamed in agony, anything mechanical overheated and either melted or exploded. Thanks to the wall of flame that Cain made around himself,he didn't get even a bruise. He looked around again."Done and done. One thing left..." He thought continuing towards the Captain's bridge. Before he reached the door, the sword was already sheathed and a human form taken. -God help you?-He asked,a deep seethed anger resonating in his voice.-Where was your GOD,when my family was slaughtered?Where was he,when millions died in the fields of Akhinari?Where was he,when my species was being eradicated?! "He could've shown himself at any time, before I had forsaken him and gave my life to cleanse the soil from the army of the six Moons that had gathered that day."A thought ran through his mind, calling more anger from deep inside. Strangely, the Captain was the only one on the whole bridge. This fact calmed Cain a bit,in a sense that he might be nearing an honourable person. As he looked him down,he spotted a white scabbard attached to the left side of his waist. It fitted perfectly with the black uniform which had the same stripes that existed in the old days. -The Captain goes down with his ship?-He asked, smiling slightly. The Captain stepped side-ways. -As it always should be.-He said, unsheathing his sword. It was a one-bladed weapon and had no exceptional markings. The man continued. -Are you the one causing all this chaos on my ship? Cain stopped a few metres from him. -Correct. -May I inquire why? -The three prisoners you had. -"Had"? -Yes.They're free and en route here. -I see.-The man said, contemplating the next action.-So,what are you planing? -I saw markings of SciReCo on many bots. Was this company known as SerCo? -Yes. -What's their involvement with this transport? -An artefact was being transported. The three prisoners were somehow connected to it. Cain laughed. -Any of their representatives on board? -No. Cain turned around and started walking towards the exit. -I'm afraid I can't let you leave,sir.-The Captain stated in the same good-mannered demeanour. -I understand.-Cain said stopping and turning back towards the man. -I am Joshua Rockfall,Captain of SS Aquarius. And you are? Cain chocked on a ball of air. -Say WHAT?! |

The darkened underground streets were as dead and creepy as ever. The footsteps echoed here like crazy, confusing the walker himself . A lot died here, dead rotting bodies showed that this was a vampire neighborhood. And furthemore, the fact that the meat was left to waste showed that demons were less than welcome here. This was a place for dream-stalkers and those who wanted to become ones. - Great. Out of all places, this is where he ended up?... – Lucifus asked growling slightly, this wors echoing in the darkness. - Well, after the war he disappeared, remember? After Nexus died. Something stuck in Lucifus’ throat. He didn’t like remembering stuff like this. - Do you think he’ll cooperate? – Lucifus asked turning to Damien for a slight second. - Why don’t you ask him yourself…? A dark figure moved in the shadows. A blood red eye stared at them both from beneath a hood, a gass mask covering his face, the other eye was closed. - What the hell do you want? – a metallic voice asked. The figure went out of the shadows, still a skeleton immitation on his jumper, the blue jeans flowing down slightly. - Daray…? – Lucifus asked, not actually recognizing him by the outside, but he felt all kinds of different since the last time he saw him. - The one and only. – he grunted robotically taking his hood off and revealing a scarred and face, if you could call that a face at all. There was little left of it, a huge scar going from the top of his head and down the forehead, covering the eye that was once blue, now white and blind – Long time no see… Lilian looked up at the sky and a strange feeling stuck her suddenly. She felt a long gone presence again, someone she met somewhen a long time ago, as if resurrected from the dead. The ruffles on the black dress softly blew in the wind and she looked down, holding her scythe beside her, staring at the city. There was no life at night, only a few shadows roamed around. The world seemed dead. - And human kind belittles, leaving us to starve and hunt each other. What irony that seeking survival they led the world to ruin… - she whispered down to the wind, her words flying down and disappearing in the mist. |

There he stood looking at what could possibly be his son.Joshua returned a questioning look. -Did...Did you have a relative by the name of Cain Rockfall?-Cain asked, trying not to give out any sign of emotion. -What's the meaning of this?-Joshua asked, irritation in his voice.-Why do you mention this forsaken name?! Cain just stood there. He had gone through countless battles, exacted his revenge on Xylos, and even had a practically the same encounter from Joshua's perspective, but neither of those things actually...hurt him, like these words. -If I had known you survived...-Cain muttered. His hands slowly slid to his dog tags hanging around his neck.He took them off, staring blindly at his own name imprinted in the piece of metal. -What do you mean “Had you known I survived“?-Joshua continued his interrogation. Cain didn't answer. He threw the dog tags to Joshua.Once Joshua laid eyes on them, shock appeared in his eyes.Cain closed his and sighed heavily. -Had I known you survived...-He repeated. Joshua couldn't believe what he saw.He looked at the dog tags, then at Cain, then at the dog tags. Behind the windows was seen the vast darkness of space. It seemed as if that darkness seethed through the windows into the ship itself,no amount of starlight able to penetrate it.The only lighting on the bridge was that of the consoles, glowing in orange, dark green and dark blue. „Is this a joke?“A thought raced through Joshua's head. -This is no joke,Joshua.-Cain spoke, turning and starting to walk slowly towards him.-Believe me,I know how you feel. Please, sheath your sword. Joshua's hand quickly rose, pointing the sword at Cain. -Do not take a step a closer. You're definitely lying. My father is dead. There are no official records of him anywhere. How do you know of him?Answer me! Cain didn't stop. -I'm not lying. To be honest,I can explain everything.-He said, his voice still devoid of any emotion. Joshua's hand started to shake.Through all his years of service he hadn't felt this kind of...Fire inside. It wasn't only burning him,he was crumbling. That's when he snapped. He lunged at Cain, swinging the sword with his left, while clenching the dog tags in his right arm. -You piece of s**t!-These words came out as Joshua's eyes filled with blood lust. As Cain looked upon his son,he could only smile. Finally the worthless talks were discarded and actions spoke. -Like father, like son.-Cain muttered. As the trio took one of the last turns towards the Captain's bridge their eyes fell on the biggest pile of death and destruction they saw after getting out of the cells.A shout full of anger was heard behind a corner.Trish shot forward without a second passing by.As she skid through the pile of ashes, crisped bodies and metal parts, she kicked off from the ground, then off a wall and jumped through a doorway sliding as she landed, her guns already aimed at the two men.She froze. The human, undoubtedly the captain, looked so close to...Cain.His eyes sinking in rage, same berserk grimace as he lunged at his enemies. But what affected her more was the other one. That man who easily evaded every swing just by simply taking a step, that man wearing a sleeveless brown coat, the same clothes, the same scabbard, the same handle of undoubtedly the same sword which power could be felt...That same face, those scars, those eyes...It WAS Cain. Ash and Caleb followed in a few seconds and they too froze as they laid their eyes upon the two men. Cain felt them.He smirked.“Finally.“He thought as his arm grabbed the blade of Joshua's sword. The second the sword's edge touched Cain's skin,he turned.Huge white wings, black horns and a black wolf tail growing in an instant.“The last escape pod has left.“ A robotic voice announced. No one had time to even blink as another explosion shook the ship. This time it was an enormous one.“Alert!Alert! The second energy core has been disabled. The ship's loosing power.A crash into planet Earth will occur in ETA 2 minutes 34 seconds.“ No one moved. Now Joshua was clenching his sword's handle with both arms,Cain's tags wrapped around one of his palms. But that was only actions influenced by combat impulses. What he saw before him was nothing short a mutant.Human face, human body, wings, horns and off all things a canine TAIL. -Joshua,how about we continue this after the crash landing?-Cain said,a smirk still in his face. The demon stood in front of his old friend slightly irritated and still not convinced - What the hell happened to you?... – he asked, referring to his face, a bit confused, his mind and inner gut feeling fought long and hard about who was right. - A bit of… Misunderstanding and a pissed off demon. I lost my eye and my lower jaw permanently.– he replied turning his gaze to Damien. The other vampire stared at him the same. - How long have you been taking it?... – Damien asked suddenly, they both staring at each other. Lucifus’ gaze switched to Damien then Daray and back. - You mean since when I am a demon hunter?... Well, dream-stalkers need blood, I need dream-stalkers. That’s how it got to this. – Daray showed to his face. Lucifus finally understood why he felt he wasn’t Daray. It was because the creature in front of him wasn’t actually Daray anymore. A fusion between a vampire, a demon, AI and mecha was probably something unique even to this type of world. - Well, we have something interesting I thought you would like. – Lucifus said, stretching out the fully artificial demon intelligence microchip. Daray’s eye widened and he looked at it in awe for a moment. - You’re so dead meat. – he said, his metallic voice suddenly sounding somewhat duller. – Get out of here before they find this place, you idiots! If SRC agents find this place the dream-stalkers will be erased off the face of the universe! – he shouted, pushing them to walk, his voice echoing and mixing into noise, unable to distinguish one word from another – And keep your mouths shut, the walls here are always listening… - he muttered to them pushing them both forward. Lilian looked up at the sky where-from a fiery mass fell. Slowly, but surely it approached from above the horizon, aimed straight at her. The feeling in her gut told her that the one revived was definitely getting closer. - s**t… - she cursed when she realized that the star ship will crash straight at where she was standing. |

Joshua swallowed his anger with a frown. -You're right.Survival comes first. But with the power gone, nothing can be done. The only good news is that the ship's walls are made of a polymer that can withstand the temperature that they'll reach due to friction. -Just sit down and enjoy the ride,Joshua.I've got everything under control.-Cain said. Then he turned to his friends. -I guess a lot of time passed and a lot of things changed, huh? Caleb snapped out first. -I had a feeling it was you.-He said, sort of smiling.-I'd like to know how you survived the sword. -I didn't. Ash came to next. His eyes got wider and wider. -What the f**king f**k is THIS s**t?!You f**king f**ker! What the f**k?!Ffffff**k! Cain chuckled. -Always the shining beacon of intelligence, aren't you,Ash? Trish stood up,her eyes sticking to Cain. She let her hands down, which started shaking and the two automatics fell to the ground.Tears started running down her cheeks and a second later she launched herself at Cain, wrapping her hands around him. -I-I missed you so much. When you...When you... One of Cain's hands wrapped around Trish's waist, the other around her shoulders. -Now,now.This isn't the Trish I remember.Where's the shooting and shouting and cursing and punching and kicking?-He said in a calming tone. Trish chuckled through her tears. -Of course I want to punch you in the face, but hugs are nicer.-She said, smiling. Joshua looked at them surprised."How can they be so at ease?Even if we don't fry during descent,we'll get crushed during impact." -No,we won't.-Cain stated. -How the..?-Joshua muttered."Is he reading my mind?" -Yes.-Cain answered. Caleb rubbed his eyes. -Captain,please,try to relax.I understand it's hard, but I assure you, you're quite safe. "ETA to impact 1minute."The metallic voice announced. You could already see they've entered the atmosphere, flames trailing behind them. -We should get moving.-Cain said. -You don't want to wait 'till the last second?-Caleb asked. -Nope.I'd like to enjoy the view. -How?-Caleb needed to know before doing anything. -Just stand behind me and put your hand on my shoulder.Grab Ash as well and you Ash grab Joshua. -This is so god damn surreal.-Ash grumbled, but listened to what was said. As soon as they stood like Cain said,he shadow walked them on the outside of the ship.As they appeared,a barrier already surrounded them. They stood on the side that wasn't going to crush them(duh).Even with the force pushing from the outside, the barrier stayed without a crack. The five of them felt like they were just standing inside a ship without any natural factors, except oxygen. -Is this the one you used...On that day?-Trish asked. -Yup.-Cain simply answered. -Niiiice.-Ash said.-You always knew how to put up a show. -Correction,"I know",Ash. -Oh,yeah.Still gotta get used to the fact that you RETURNED from the god damn dead! Trish hadn't moved more than an inch after wrapping her hands around Cain. She just enjoyed the view. That, and she was still in a strange aftershock-happiness kind of mixture. Ash was,as always, slightly childish, maybe somewhat unadjusted to the really weird and unbelievable shit. Whereas Caleb was the most stable of these three. He had already felt Cain's presence in the ship,so this scenario bothered him up until the Captain's bridge. He never liked Cain's character, but always respected him for what he fought for and in the end made the ultimate sacrifice for.And there he was, looking at a man who had returned from the dead. But why and how? And as for Joshua,he almost s**t himself as the ship crashed and slid leaving a deep cut in the earth. |

A strong gush of wind blew from the impact, the ground shook and fire consumed the world. Lilian stood aside, looking at the destroyed city. Huge parts of the ship lay around burning or steaming from the heat. Shadows ran from the place, screeching and growling, their eyes glimmering in the artificial darkness like those of beasts. - Destruction... - she breathed out her thought. Her gaze was fixed on the five people that were beside the ship, only one of them not sending a familiar vibe. She quickly appeared near them and looked up. Her eyes widened, heart seemed to stop as did the breathing. - Cain...? - she whispered out and quickly marched to them. Her eyes and mind didn't believe what she saw, but the feeling in her gut screamed that it was really him. Was it actually possible to come back from the dead...? She came closer still, the scythe appearing in her hand, but for protection only. She didn't know who that ghost was, but it sure reeked of Cain. And where Cain is, destruction is certain. The ground shook like hell sending the trio to their knees. - What the hell was that...? - Lucifus asked, looking up. The ceiling cracked. - s**t! RUN! - Daray shouted, quickly standing up and grabbing them both by the scruff of their necks and pushing them forward. The underground city fell on their heads, huge blocks of concrete shaking the ground beneath their feet. - f**k this... - Lucifus growled out of breath and put his hands on both vampires' shoulders. They appeared outside just to see the ground bend in where the underground was. They saw a bunch of vampires appearing on the ground near them. Lucifus cursed. - Look... - Damien said to them both, his gaze turned to the burning city. - Oh s**t... - Daray and Lucifus said at the same time. The trio ran down to it, feeling a strange presence, familiar, but somehow it seemed unlikely to be. Lucifus spread his wings and flew up - You feel it...? - he asked, his gaze somewhat distant. The surroundings seemed surreal. - Yeah... - Daray said and started running even faster, Damien following his lead. |

-That was one hell of a ride!-Ash exclaimed.-Lets do it again! He was frisking slightly,as if a child who just felt the thrill of a huge roller-coaster. Everyone ignored him. Joshua was feeling nauseous,Caleb kept his eyes on Cain, and as well as Trish, waited for him to understand. Which happened immediately.Any sign of happiness(which wasn't much to begin with) of reunion disappeared from Cain's face.He was now enraged.Cain didn't even turn to Lili, though he knew she was close. All he felt was anger filling his every muscle. -You f**ked up...-He whispered.-You a**h*es f**ked up?! He roared from the bottom of his lungs and disappeared.Anything of the city's surrounding infrastructure that still were a part of what was before started falling down.Cain was venting his anger at every inanimate object around.Roars and curses sounded from different angles every second. He suddenly appeared in front of Lili. -You...You!For all the power you hold in that scythe and yet you still manage to let things go to s**t like this?!You pathetic, useless piece of crap! Than he disappeared again.Suddenly, any vampire, demon or even a half-breed that was foolish enough to growl from the darkness ended screaming in agony. Not from the blade, mind you,but from Cain's bare hands. Then he reappeared again. This time right in front of Lucifus.Cain had fully opened up to the sword's power.Armour covered his arms, spine, tail and part of his wings. The handle was just circling around his left arm. From time to time yo could see small flames igniting around him and vanishing as smoke just as they appeared. He looked at Lucifus with those hatred filled eyes of his. -And YOU.-Cain said, half growling.-Those self-proclaimed "rebels" followed you with the same loyalty as they did Amelia.I NEVER even thought of asking for that. And yet I sacrificed my LIFE for them, causing pain to those closest to me!And for what?!So you s**tc***s would f**k up this hard?! And once more he merged with the shadows. And once more screams of pain echoed through the demolished city.Rings of fire flamed and spread at different parts of the territory. In a few minutes everything fell almost silent again, just a moan or two were heard from time to time. And all of this from one dead man's anger. Cain re-emerged from the shadows at the same place he let his anger flood the city.He fell to his knees, still clenching the the sword in his left hand, but this time returned to it's normal state.Cain's muscles had lost a lot of mass, but were still enough to let him breath. He couldn't have done this before, but now, when he had escaped from the sword itself...He could have very well BEEN the Sword of Judgement. His eyes stared blankly at the ground."Is this why I have returned?Or was I allowed to?But...Why?How?"Thoughts like this raced through his mind as he felt the Earth almost devoid of humanity, filled with vile vampires, demons and half-breeds.They had become nothing more then wild beast, hungering for the ever decreasing flesh and blood of humans. And those, who have not yet succumbed to this insanity were those two war comrades and friends, his beloved Trish and maybe a few more he either knew or didn't.Those who have not yet succumbed dwindled in numbers. Joshua now looked at Cain. -Is this...How COULD this be my father?-He whispered to himself. His mind was closing in to insanity.Caleb both heard the words and felt Joshua's state of mind.He approached him in disbelief. -You're...-He gestured at Cain.-Blood? Ash just came to himself. -Holy mother of God...-He only managed to mumble. Then he looked at the sky.-Uh,guys,sun's gonna rise soon.Maybe we should...- -Yeah.-Caleb answered to the unfinished question. -My old cottage,then.-Trish suggested while helping Cain stand up. Ash grabbed Joshua again and put his arm on Caleb's right shoulder, while Trish did so on his left. They disappeared, leaving a trail of destruction yet again. As they re-emerged at Trish's cottage, memories surfaced in her mind. This is where Cain had pulled her in that 7th Moon ordeal more than a hundred years ago.She laid Cain down on a sofa.He had fallen asleep from exhaustion.Joshua also couldn't stand any more. The mental and physical stress he experienced through the last hour or so was simply too much.Ash put him in an armchair. Caleb had already returned from the kitchen/freezer with some snacks.Soon they all sat on the ground around a table. -Sh******t.-Ash cursed. -Totally.-Trish added. -So...What now?-Caleb asked. A moment of silence fell. -Now?-Trish repeated rhetorically.-Now we wait. There's a lot of things that will have to be discussed once the two of them wake up. They returned to eating. The whole time none of them said a word.Something big was yet again looming behind the horizon. So big,it might as well reach for the stars this time. The silence was interrupted for a while. -This might be our final battle. Our last sacrifice to the Gods of old.-The three of them said and returned to silence again. Everyone stood still. The silence was broken only by the crackling fire and buildings falling appart in the distance. The earth around them filled with dead emptiness. Daray was the one that snapped first. Manical metallic laughter scattered around them and got louder and louder till he fell on his knees, holding to his scomach. - We screwed up… hahaha… screwed up… - he laughed and loughed. Everyone turned to him, his laughter making it even more freaky. Daray finally stopped and stood up, wiping tears of laughter, in his eye was seen the thin line that still held him from the insanity of this world almost breaking. Lucifus looked at him, fear in his eyes for the first time in years, slightly shaking. - He’s alive… - he whispered, clenching his fists, but his body only shook more – alive… - he held his head with his hands, not believing what he saw, feeling how insanity was clawing at his mind. He screwed up. They all screwed up. But now there was nothing they could do about it. Humans themselves built artificial beings, robots into which they transferred their minds, their souls, so to be condemned to darkness without having a body they should stick to, seeking true immortality. - Nice. All s**t gathered in one place and time… This should be ineresting. – Damien said, everyone turned to him. Fear and interest shone in his eyes, his mainly still face was now disorted by a grimace that could be hardly called a smile. It was so freeky that even Daray shook his head, snapping out of his own confusion and startlement. Then they noticed her. Lilian stood with her head hung down, preaching something and holding the scythe pendant in her hand. She was talking to the souls. - We need to find him. – she said suddenly turning her blood red eyes at them and disappeared. - We need to find him… find him… find him… - He must find a new world. A new start for humanity. This world is damned… At it’s end… End… - The end of all light is coming to the planet Earth. There is nothing that can be done here. Human kind destroyed itself. - Human kind should be given another chance - Human kind must be destroyed! - Human kind is no more, there is nothing human about those that are left… - We need to cleanse this world from us. Our dream was too long, our power too little. - We wronged them all. - He should be the one to share the power. - He should be the one to destroy you. - Our power must be given away - You are not worthy. - You are not worthy. - You are not worthy. - Find him. Find him! FIND HIM! Lilian appeared somewhere near them, falling to her knees, tears in her eyes. - I NEVER WANTED THIS POWER IN THE FIRST PLACE YOU BASTARDS! – she shouted and hit her head to the ground to make the voices go away, crying loudly afterwards. – I never wanted it… I never deserved it… Why me?... – she whispered through sobs, curling up on the soil. After a while she managed to get ahold of herself and stood up slowly, slightly stroking the pendant. - My sin is my insanity… - she whispered – I am allways pulling the trigger, but never taking aim… I need his help. – she said to herself and marched to the house opening the door wide and closing it behind her, looking at the five people there. - I’m here to help. – she said silently, not putting her scythe to use in any way. Right at that moment she gave up all of her defences. Even if someone were to attack, she wouldn’t fight back, even if it would kill her… She didn’t want to be a weapon anymore. |

Ash sighed heavily, throwing a piece of meat back into the plate. -For the love of...Can't we even finish eating without someone barging in through the front? The three of them eyed Lili down. -What do YOU want?-Trish obviously expressed her irritation with Lili. It's not that she disliked her,it's that the damn scythe under Lili's control wasn't at all an acceptable piece near her. -Would you both knock it off?-Caleb said in a stern voice.-She looks like she's already been through a few things herself.Come,sit. He gestured to the opposite side of the table from him.He continued: -Whatever you want doesn't matter much. We've still have to wait until these two wake up.-Caleb paused.-But to be honest,it seems it is you who needs help. "You f**ked up!You a**h*es f**ked up!I didn't sacrifice myself for THIS!" -Cain!Snap out, damn it!-Trish shouted, pulling the trigger. Cain didn't feel any pain, but it still woke him up.He realised he had turned and was holding Ash and Caleb by their throats and had them pinned to wall. They were both struggling in hopes of pushing his werewolf paws away.Cain let them go and clutched his own head, slowly turning back. His eyes were running through the room.It was a total wreck."Seems like my body's better. But I won't be jumping into the fire for a few more days at best." -S**t...How long was I going berserk? Caleb breathed in deeply. -Not longer than 30seconds.Are you fully in control?I can understand why...- -I'm fine.Anyone got smokes? -Got smokes?!Are you f**king serious?!-Ash exclaimed. -Smokes.Now.Please. Trish threw him a pack. -Next time I'll aim for the head.-She said quite seriously. -You do that.-Cain answered the same. As he lit up and breathed in this great poison,he smirked. -If the dead had tobacco,I might have considered staying. Caleb put the table back in place while Ash used his wind powers to pick up everything that was left from their snack off the floor.First,Cain looked at Joshua who was still out cold."Good."He thought. Then he turned to Lili. -What the f**k are YOU doing here?-Still obviously considering her more of a vermin.-I assume you're having problems with that piece of crap you call a weapon? Cain didn't really need an answer. He saw it in her eyes and understood perfectly. It actually managed to call out a slight pity. That's what tipped him off to decide to help her.He flipped the hot tip of the cigarette, put it on the table, pushed his thumb at one of the fangs until blood came out and walked to her.He pushed her so she'd fall on her butt and started drawing something on her forehead. Then he pressed the bloody thumb at his own forehead leaving a print. This was followed by unsheathing his sword and stabbing it in between them in the floor. He also grabbed the pendant. It turned to a shadowy mass for a moment before appearing on the sword's handle. He then sat down too,the sword being the separating line. -Don't let even a drop of my blood get in your mouth, unless going bat s**t crazy is what you're aiming for.-"Same goes vice verse."He thought, before continuing.-I hate using magic. You owe me big time for this. He didn't even let her say anything. His right palm slid by the edge, while with the left hand he grabbed Lili by the back of her head, smacking her into the blunt side of the sword, while doing the same himself simultaneously. They appeared in an area with trees shooting up into the star filled sky,an orange full moon situated there too.Two lycans ran up to them soon enough. -Hey there Dens,Umbra. It's been a while.-Cain said welcoming the two with smirk. The lycans started gaining a more humanoid forms. They there had less mass that a wolf demon normally would, but the smaller details were closer to a wolf.Umbra threw his paw on Cain's left shoulder. -Indeed it was.-Umbra spoke in a friendly low tone, growling voice.-And you bring the newest heiress of the First vampire's scythe. Why is that? -Schizophrenia.-Cain answered sarcastically. Dens walked forward.Though her body was fully covered by fur,it was evident she was female. -Well,then we welcome you to the land of the dead.-She said in the same friendly manner. Her voice had the same growling "accent",but was a higher pitch. -Don't confuse her.-He said mockingly, then turned to Lili.-This is the inside of Michael's sword. We'll move onto your scythe later. -We thought there was a strange distortion.-Umbra said. -Yeah.I'm aiming to get her more accustomed and adept in controlling the souls. The two lycans were quiet for a few seconds. -You do understand the souls you're burdened with and those she carries are of different origins.-Dens spoke. -Of course.-Cain answered.-She'll be fine. -What do you aim to gain from this?-Umbra asked. -To make er strong enough to carry her burden alone. -Not all are so stupidly stubborn like you.-Umbra said with what seemed to be a smirk. -Well,it worked, didn't it?-Cain answered with the same smirk. The two lycans chuckled,if could call it that.Having a lack of a few vocal sucks sometimes. -Just make sure former sword wielders won't attack her.-Dens asked politely. Cain snickered. -Not unless she's at the edge of dying. Now,if you don't mind,I'd like to take a swim.-He said with the usual arrogance. Dens step after him. -W-wait...-She started, but Cain didn't listen. Umbra put his paw on her shoulder this time. -Don't worry. He knows what he's doing.-He said, then turned to Lili.-Well,we're going. You're officially in his care now. -That's synonymous to "you're on your own".-Dens said, still slightly irritated by Cain's action.-But whatever.Good luck,Lili. The lycans jumped into the midst of trees and landed already changed back to their four-legged forms and disappeared. Trish,Ash and Caleb observed the ritual.Once the two had smacked their heads at the blunt side of the blade, their bodies fell down numb as stones.Trish sighed and rubbed her eyes. -Here we go again. -Well,anybody up for beer, snacks and a film?-Ash suggested. -Why not? It's not like we've got anything better to do until those two wake up.-Trish agreed. Caleb threw another glimpse at the two bodies."Breathing.The bodies are still alive,but...Cain,what are you up to now?"He thought and followed Ash and Trish into the kitchen. Rays of sunlight were already falling through a few small cracks between the planks on the windows. Edited by Rockfall, Thu May 5, 2011 12:57 am.

Lilian was confused and utterly stunned by what happened. By the point Cain dived into the so called “lake” she stopped caring . Everything that was here, she took as an illusion, though as soon as she felt more presences than usual, she shuddered a little looking around. Soft footsteps hardly touched the unnaturally bright green grass as she approached the forest. Curiously, she looked into the darkness beneath the trees, hardly able to see anything, even though she was a vampire. That made her even more confused as to what this place really was. She already started turning away, when a black shadow crossed the side of her eyes. She quickly turned back, shuddering. Nothing. ”Why am I so f**king afraid, damn it?!” she though to herself irritated, and then realized that her weapon was nowhere near. - What the f**k?! – she shouted looking around. Nobody here. Nothing. The forest was gone. Lilian turned around and around nervously, losing her sense of reality, then closed her eyes. ”This is an illusion, dumbass…” she thought to herself and her breathing calmed down. She slowly opened her eyes, everything was back to where Cain sent them to. - Okay, I’m going to murder that bastard for leaving me alone here. – she said to herself and smiled irritatedly, walking to the lake. The still surface rummaged ever so slightly, never shining though. Lilian looked up. The sky was a clear blue, no cloud… But no sun either. The sole fact that it was light, but with no light source made her stiffen a little. She looked to her feet – no shadows. - Oh wow… - she mumbled, amazed by the effect. Then her gaze turned to the surrounding forests. There seemed to be no end to them, as far as she could see, the tops of the trees never disappeared from the horizon. ”A flat surface?..” she thought to herself, but then shook her head ”I shouldn’t be wandering around too much… How long can he be underwater anyways? Though I won’t be surprised that there’s no water beneath the surface…” She walked around the lake, carefully examining it, trying to see into it, but it seemed to have no ground, or it was so deep that the bottom couldn’t be seen even by unnatural eyes. ”Come to think of it… Nothing here is natural.” Lilian thought and leaned to the lake. Her fingers slowly touched the surface, sending ripples through it all. She was less that surprised when she put her hand in and out of the lake, but it left dry. It felt wet, though. - Okay, I guess I should follow, huh… - she mumbled to herself still not trusting that thought too much. - What do we do now? He’s definitely back. The only one who could know why, is you, Lucifus. – Daray said a bit angrily. Everyone were staring at the demon now. Lucifus looked at them, his hands nervously shaking. - I don’t know. I bet even he doesn’t know. All this s**t is beyond me… - he said finally, turning away from them and walking. - Where the hell are you going?! – Daray shouted at his back. Damien giggled a little, not following - Leave him be. He’s going to warn Amelia. And we… Have work to do, don’t you think? – Damien said, smiling and spinning the microchip in his hand. – What do you want to do with this, Daray? The mask let out a gargling laugh, the scar distorting his face, he must have smiled. - Oh great, now I have a sidekick… There is a lot we need to learn about this thing before we can be sure we want hand it to a dead-guy… Though I would drop the “we” in this... – Daray looked at Damien coldly – You know I work alone, right? - I’ve got the chip, you’ve got the connections. – Damien said, his happy expression already fading, leaving the cold and uninterested one. - Good point. You suggest we team up, then? – Daray asked, looking at him. The artificial vampire glared at the one-eyed freak. - Duuuuuh!~ - he let out and started walking into the other direction – The sun will come up in 20 minutes, let’s go. |

Cain left Lili there and walked towards the lake.He stopped at it's side and dove right from there. It wasn't shallow. In fact, there was nothing beneath the water, just air.He shot out into a few metres hight above the water surface. The surroundings were just the same as before the dive, but there was one difference.A village stood a few steps into the woods from the shore.Cain spread his wings and flew towards it,almost gliding on the lake's surface. The village itself was composed of numerous huts in a cut-out clearing in the woods. Some of them were one storey, others two storey and only a few reached three storeys in hight. Cain shot up near the shore to make space for landing. He's feet touched ground right in front of the village entry.A man and a woman,a pair from the looks of it,came to great him. They seemed young, but who could tell their age precisely? They might have been residing here for thousands of years. -Good day,Elders.-Cain greeted them. The male Elder's face was scornful, but his eyes showed regret. -You definitely going through with this?-He asked. -Yup. The female Elder sighed. -Though we came to this decision together,it still seems wrong. -Don't worry,Elders. This will work. -Well,she's fast.-A spectral man-of-a-bear spoke as he saw Lili being jetted out of the "lake". -You surprised,Astar?Cain knows what he's doing.-A quite slim guy said. The huge one seemed to be of European origin, while the other of Asian. -Wonder what he's planning.-Astar said, scratching his chin. -You,as a spirit of this sword should know.Or have you become so detached from your own nature?-The slim one,Kori,criticized.-He's going to use her as bait for the corrupted ones. They,in return, will try to do the same.Difference is,we know that. They don't. -What unchivalrous behaviour.-Astar said with a smug face.-A knight would never do that! -He's not even trying to pretend to be you,Astar.Plus, she deserves it AND it will benefit her. They're now in a purest meaning of an astral body.Their souls are completely merged with their minds and are resonating in between at peak efficiency.Cain won't mess up and will keep her alive for the return trip. Astar crumbled and scratched his chin again. -I hope you're right. -Hope is the mother of idiots.-A voice came from atop them. As the two of them looked up,they saw Cain sitting on a tree branch. -You didn't think I might WANT to kill her here.-He added. Kiro smirked. -If you wanted to,she wouldn't be here. -Don't take me wrong.I'm just curious to see if she can pull through this. Astar pointed at Lili, who already stood on the "lake's" shore. -Well,she managed to get to this side. She might have a chance.-He said, slight optimism returning to his voice. Cain glared at Astar. -Hope is the mother of idiots.-He repeated, jumped down and started walking towards the village. -So,tell me,Trish. Why didn't you let him go?-Ash asked her. The three of them were sitting close to the bodies of Cain and Lili. -What do you mean?-Trish asked, slightly irritated by whatever he was trying to imply. -I'm not trying to screw with you.-He said, feeling Trish's reaction.-It's just strange. You didn't seem the type to hold on to a dead love.Cain undoubtedly taught you the same. And I know you didn't stay single for an age and a half due to trauma. So,why? -Ash.-Caleb grumbled in a lecturing done. -No,it's alright.-Trish said.-The reason is,I knew he was alive. Not in a usual meaning of the word, mind you.See,I drank his blood.-As she said that,Ash spat coughed out a piece of fried flesh.-I needed to learn and get accustomed to feeding somehow. And neither of us wanted me do go blood-starved crazy on someone. -So...-Ash thought for a moment.-How was it? -Like someone had injected LSD into your brain.-Trish sighed and tried to smirk.-He's got some scary s**t inside his head. How did you think I managed to put up with his crap? -Yeeeeaaaah...-Ash only managed to push. Then quickly shook his head.-So,blood candy anyone? |

Lilian sighed, looking at the surface of the lake and finally decided - I must be an idiot... - she said to herself before jumping up and diving head-first into the lake. For a moment she felt like floating in nothingness, then the surface suddenly appeared over her head. She shot out like a bullet, pushed out by an enormous power. It surprised her, but didn't shock her. By that moment she realized that nothing here is affected by normal physics. Black wings spread from her back, letting her flow down on one of the lake shores. Everything seemed the same, but one thing - a town. - Great, now what... - she mumbled, going around the lake to reach the town, not rushing anywhere - I'm getting tired of this bulls**t... She looked at the buildings, distinguishing human-like beings that, supposedly, the town belonged to. After a few moments of observation she finally noticed him. Up in a three like a bird, talking to someone, then jumping off and going towards town. Lili frowned at his behavior, but decided to do nothing rash. She wanted this to be over as soon as possible. Everything around her started to irritate and made absolutely no god-damn sense. She took a deep breath, calmed down a little and cautiously approached the gates of the town, deciding to play along for now, since obviously there was nothing she could do. She didn't know how to get out of here. - Lovely. Don't you have protective gear from sunlight? With what you got from the SRC you seemed like those able to get it... - Daray mumbled as they god down to another underground city, far off the one that was destroyed. - We don't need those in space, so we didn't get them. - Damien answered coldly as they headed down the stairs, hearing voices, music and all other kinds of sounds from a lively town. - Wow, such a contrast to where you lived... - Shut up, I lived with dream-stalkers. I bet most of them are hiding here now... By the way, it's not like it's just a city. We're in the underground capital. - I always wanted to visit Menas. I think I haven't been here in more than fifty years. - You'll be surprised how it changed... - Daray said just as they went in through the main gates. Damien's eyes widened. It was enormous. The central building was a huge skyscraper that held the ceiling over all the levels of this city. - How... - Damien started, looking down from atop the stairs, around a little and then up to the peak of the sky-scraper. Gothic, Greek and Mayan architecture mixture of the black walls that were carved out of the solid rock and hard lava of the underground and artificial lights and lines, shiny metal plates atop of it and all around made everything look amazingly unreal. - 100 levels plus the 30 storeys you see in front of you. Each level has three storeys. Count that and you'll get how deep they dug... Damien slowly walked down, looking at the main building still. There were smaller all around it. A true capital. - I'm guessing it's magic that's holding this place from falling apart and into the core of the earth?... - Yep. See those shiny blue lines on the main building? That's what's keeping this place from falling apart. - Any humans? - Half of what you'll see here are or were humans. I'm talking cyborgs. Believe me, people can defend themselves here. Our easy-pray days are long gone. The mask let out a slight gargle - Daray sighed. He started to head down the stairs, Damien followed in a light step. They both walked down the stairs and and soon disappeared into the dark city. |

Kori ran up to Cain. -So,what going on?-Cain asked. -Just as we predicted.-The man answered.-They're gathering near the interjection of the artefacts. What's the plan? -Just let me and her handle it. Kori raised an eyebrow. -You sure? There's going to be a lot of 'em.Fighting them and looking after the girl might be hard.Even you needed help when you first came here. -I didn't need help and no,it won't be hard. She's not THAT weak. Kori smirked. The answer he got was expected. -Well,if you DO need help,you...-Kori started, but Cain ignored him and was already walking towards the gates. Anyone who saw Lili avoided contact. They neither knew what to expect of her, nor did they wish to talk to her. There was plenty of work to be on day-to-day basis anyway. Most of the "people" retained their identities after death and "reincarnation" to here. It might have seemed strange. Even if the sword had a wielder, it's source of power, these "people", were independent and worked as a separate body. They could simply ignore the calls of the wielder, if they wished. This basically meant that the sword's power was more or less a random index. Cain knew that and it seemed the most acceptable way to spend an afterlife. "No control over your actions.Just your own morals and will.I would wish it no other way." was his answer to the first question "A tyrant or a noble king?" asked by the Elders right after him entering the sword. Well, before that he had to fight against the ravenous spirits of this place. The ones that didn't retain their identity, just the basic instincts. Or they were simply more inclined to kill the one who refused their wish to take over his body in life. From that point on Cain lived and worked with this village. Bonds and a new life have been established. He regarded this place as a last resort, if everything went to s**t in the "real world". But anyway, the people here were quite friendly. If Lili would have spoken to them, they would've spoken back and probably in a nice manner. As Cain approached Lili, he spoke: -So,how do you like it here?-He asked, though he really didn't care. The question might have had a sarcastic tone to it too. Ash was leaning a bit over Joshua analysing his face. -I could've mistaken him for Cain. Except for the scars, there's the constant frown, the jaw and the form of the eyes. He even grows his beard the same way. Wonder how he managed to live this long?Implants? Caleb became interested too. -How old should he be? Trish frowned. -Well, he was five years old when Cain got turned and was probably around ten when we met at the 7th Moon. So it's correct to say his well over a hundred. Caleb harrumphed. -He doesn't seem to be mechanized.Neither looks, nor smells like that. But he doesn't seem turned too.Doesn't even smell as having a potential to. Trish smirked. -His mother was human. Caleb's eyes widened a bit. -But a chance of impregnation... -Well,Cain hadn't turned then, remember? So there might have been a decent chance. Ash was surprised by how casually Trish approached this subject. After all, Joshua symbolized Cain's former life. Considering that Trish still holds feelings for Cain, she might feel their relationship somewhat threatened. But she either didn't or hid it perfectly. That's when he noticed a change. -Uh,guys?-He spoke putting his palm of Joshua's forehead.-He's breathing heavily and has a fever...And he's starting to smell like a dog.Literally. He walked down the halls of a small abandoned mansion. It was silent, dead; each step he made felt like it will make everything fall apart into dust, even the slightest sound making the walls and ceiling crack a little. Sunlight already started to hit the tip of the building. He had to hurry. Running was heard through the empty walls and unwatched gardens, the sunrise getting closer and closer with every second. He saw the rays of light touch the windows and went even faster, ducking a little. - Come on, where is that f**king door... - he hissed, carefully looking around. He ran past a small entrance down and slid a slight bit too far, hissing at the sunlight burning his skin, quickly turning back and flying down the stairs, bashing the door open. A few curious eyes turned to him; awkward moment of silence passed. - Amelia... - he started, slightly panting, but was stopped by a raised hand. - I told you not to come here anymore, demon. - she said, her voice low and choked, one fiery eye staring at him with deep hatred. Lucifus snorted, smirking a little - I see your pride and annoying "royal" manners only grew through these years... - You destroyed our clan! - I did what was necessary to assure at least a little part of humanity survives! You bastards have no sense of limits! They both growled at each other for a moment, staring one another in the eye with deep hatred and disgust. Amelia was the first to calm down for Lucifus' amazement. She sighed a little, stood up and walked to him. There was a huge scar on the left side of her face, going straight through the eye that was now artificial. Longing was seen in her eye when she looked at the demon again, a sad frown covering her face. - Lu... What happened? - she asked silently, her voice low and filled with pain. The demon looked at her as coldly as ever. He could never return the feelings she had for him. - S**t happened, that's what. I only came to warn you. Cain's back. - he said. Amelia's hand stopped midway from touching his cheek. She stiffened, her eyes filled with fear. - You mean... - Yes, he's back from the dead. Don't ask me how, I have no idea. But for once, I'm glad that bastard is back. He's the only one able to stop the madness you created. - Lucifus hissed, pushing her hand away and walking down the familiar underground passage. Amelia shook with anger - I created? I CREATED?! You were the one that brought Cain and Lilian to us! - she shouted at him, her voice breaking at the end, tears falling down her cheek. Lucifus turned at her, cold hatred glimmering in his eyes, piercing her to the depths of her soul. She sobbed, turning away from him, hiding her face in her hands. - I only brought you victory. You were the one that decided to let the world turn to chaos afterward. And don't try to tell me I didn't try to stop you. Amelia looked at him with a frown, slightly touching the scar on her face. - I'll never forgive you for killing him. - she said silently. Lucifus turned away from her, marching out to the passage. - Nexus died because you let him do what he did. You were the trigger, Amelia. I was only the gun. - he said and disappeared into the dark passage, hearing shouting from behind his back for a while, what then turned into silent sobs. Lucifus frowned a little, fastening his step, her voice already irritating him to no end... - Yeah, and… Damien? Oh for the love of… Where the hell did that bastard disappear to?! – Daray mumbled metallically, crossing hands on his chest, frowning deeply. It was only 3 hours after they went into the city and Damian already framed Daray twice. Well, at least the Scandinavian vampire believed so. At first he was chased by a few dream-stalkers, who blamed him for destroying their hometown. ”It’s not like I was the one to crash a f**king star-ship into a f**king city and f**king destroy everything… F**K!” he thought, noticing a few of them already gaining on him. - And now there are three demons on my tail for obvious reasons… Thanks Damien, you’re so much help you sneaky bastard… - he hissed to himself, dashing off to another small alley when the scent of his followers was inevitably close. He ran down the streets with as much speed as he could, trying not to hit anyone on the way when suddenly a hand stopped and dragged him into a door, closing it immediately. Daray took out a knife from his belt and threw it into the one that did so out of reflex, trying to distinguish who it was. - Ouch. – Damien said in an irritated voice, looking at Daray with a frown, a knife sticking out of his guts. Daray sighed out of relief and irritation at the same time, ruffling his own hair a little - Okay, let me guess “Gathering information while I was playing with friends that want to kill me.” – Daray hissed at him. - You could say that – Damien threw a devious smirk at him – Or maybe I just enjoy irritating people. – he said, taking out Daray’s knife from his stomach. Daray threw another at him, straight between his ribs, frowning - Next time, just say that you leave. It’s irritating when you just disappear like that and I’m in the middle of a sentence. Damien only glared at Daray, took out the other knife and threw them to the ground. - Your chase was of profit, the demons wok for SRC. We need their licenses. - Fine, you get my dreamy friends and I get us two licenses. - Three Daray blinked at him confused. - Lu’ will be joining us shortly. - Isn’t he with Amelia? - Only if they’re trying to rip each other’s heads off. Then he might take a while… Here. – Damien threw Daray a beeper. - Message me when you’re done. – he said, putting a gun on his shoulder and walking to the small window. Daray looked at him frowning and irritated. - Message me when you’re done – he repeated in a mocking tone - What are you, my mother? – he hissed a little. - I wouldn’t dream of it. And by the way, our licenses are very close… - he said, jumping out the window with a smirk. That meant no good. Daray was blown away into the wall by the door that was now flaming, three demons standing in the doorway, each released his power to the max. Daray moaned from pain in his spine when he pushed the door away from himself, looking at the three. All were purebreds, fire air and ice - Well, sh*t, I think you made the wrong move. – he said, the metallic voice having a tone of a maniacal happiness in it. Transparent hands spread in the room, immediately taking the trio and crushing them into one another, then throwing them into the wall nearby. A smile seemed to appear on his face as his eyes narrowed. - It’s no good when I’m too far away. – he said, putting his hands in front of himself and for a moment they lit up, sending a gush of daylight at the three. They all hissed in pain. ”God, I love technology…” Daray thought giggling a little. Lilian frowned at him, clenching her little fists, slightly pouting. - The faster we get through with this the better. – she said, crossing her hands on her chest and looking away from him. The way he looked at her made her shiver a little. Such cold eyes… She nervously fixed her dress, looking up at him again with fear. This man was much more suited to bear a task given to her, but he already had too much on his shoulders. ”I can’t just throw the gem at him and run away from my responsibility, putting everything on him… But it’s just too much for me alone.” she thought looking at him and then turned away again ”I’m not him, he can’t believe to be able to make me resemble his will in any way through this so why…” - I don’t know what you want to achieve by showing me this place. The powers of our weapons come from different sources; you don’t believe that this can teach me anything. So then, what is my purpose here? – she asked, slightly irritated by the thought he could be just using her. But she felt so much guilt that this felt like the least she deserved. |

Cain smirked at Lili's childish demeanour. -Your purpose?Only one.-Cain paused slightly, still thinking this over.-You're gonna help me get inside your scythe. He observed her reaction before continuing. -I could give you a long winded explanation, but basically, every artefact has a "niche",which holds it's power. That's where we're going. -No need to hurry,Wielder. There's enough time for explanations.-A voice of an approaching figure sounded from the left. -Oh...It's you.-Cain said blankly. The figure was distorted. This soul had a shape, but not any solid visual details to resemble a human being. It's face shifted and blurred constantly. The voice it spoke in was the same.Sometimes a whisper, sometimes a high pitch tone, sometime just a gurgle. -So you're gonna waste the time we could use for something useful to blabber about unimportant details?-Cain spoke in the same tone he greeted the figure. A smile seemed to float in the figure's face for a split second. Then it let out a sigh and a face started to form.It looked like an infant's attempt at sculpturing. One eye twice as big as the other, the nose crooked and bent to the left, the mouth seemed more like a hole. -She's a guest.Unexpected and somewhat bothersome, but a guest nonetheless.Proper manners are in order. -For f**k's sake.-Cain let out a sigh and covered his eyes.-Okay.Take your sweet-ass time.I'll just lay down on that bench there. As Cain walked away, the figure turned to Lili, his face correcting itself in the process. -I am the High Elder and the first Wielder,Lili.-The figure bowed his head slightly.-As you've noticed,Cain...isn't a man of words. -I think you meant to say I don't seek attention like you.-Cain remarked as he lay down on the bench and threw his left arm over his eyes. The High Elder ignored the remark. -Pay no mind to how he shows himself. He's quite a caring person. He intends to confront the...Soul of your artefact. To help you subdue the power. -To kick his ass.-Cain interrupted once more. The High Elder rolled his eyes and smirked. -This sword's and your scythe's "niches" are now interacting with each other, causing some distortions here and, without a doubt, there. Those distortions manifest and spring from a rift that appeared in our "niche".It's the equivalent location of place where the two artefacts physically touch. There might be some problems along the way due to that.I came here to offer you a gift.A weapon, actually. Cain opened one of his eyes to peek at what the gift was.The High Elder handed Lili a staff he himself walked with. -This staff is something of a conduit to relay your powers.Inconveniently, it only exists in our "niche" though,so I'm afraid it'll disappear once you enter through the rift. But I hope you won't need it there. -Are you done wasting our time, old man?-Cain spoke. -Yes,I'm "done wasting your time".-The High Elder retorted. Then he mumble to himself.-No respect for the elders. As Cain stood up,the High Elder spoke again. -Cain,do look out for this girl.As much as you believe yourself capable,no man alone is as an army. -You're talking to a soldier,Argash.I don't need lectures on battle.-Cain countered, then looked at Lili.-I won't be moving as fast as I can,but try to keep up,girl. He lunged forward toward the lake and not a minute passed as he was diving into it. (God damned plot mover(The High Elder types). They always come out the same )Joshua squirmed constantly in the armchair he was laying in from the start, his fever spiking. -What's going on?-Trish exclaimed as she ran for some wet towels.-Is he turning?! Caleb picked Joshua up and carried him to the sofa. -Might be,as improbable as it might seem.-Caleb said as he laid Joshua down. Then something both disgusting and unbelievable started happening. -What the f**k?!-Ash exclaimed.-Is he...Duplicating?Did SRC really achieve that? That self-duplicating cell/cloning thing? -But they started it 50 years ago.-Trish ran in with the towels.-Jacob doesn't even look mid-30. -Or we just didn't know all the facts.-Caleb spoke.-Could he be an experiment in an open environment? Trish was stunned for a few seconds, then spoke again. -But doesn't that mean that,if we're right and this cloning is successful,he'll be easily influenced by our presence and, well, turn? Ash bit his lip. -Why does suck random s**t always have to hit the fan near us?-He said, breaking into a song afterwards.-Been around a hundred years/Lame ass stuff is all there's to see...Damn,I can't rhyme. -Lets just tend to Jacob for now.Answers will need to wait. |

”What could he possibly need inside my… Lili started her thought, but it was never finished, distracted by the figure appearing in front of her. She was so shocked about the elder’s appearance out of nowhere at first she didn’t even hear what he or Cain said, watching the strange floating thing in front of her, her confusion well hidden by a completely calm expression. The ever changing face reminded her of her own nightmares and she backed away slightly when it stretched out a stick to her. She blinked at it, realizing it’s a weapon and somehow relaxed. Now she was at least able to kick that monster into oblivion, even though he was an elder. Cain was seemingly not amused by it all and ran off. - Keep up, huh… I bet he doesn’t realize we’re evenly matched. – she mumbled with a frown and her gaze shifted to the being again. – Uh… Thank you, s-ir?... For everything. – she said, raising her eyebrow in confusion of this being’s gender, but shook her head trying not to think about it so much and smiled politely, turning away and running towards the lake again, gaining speed with every second with a smirk on her face ”While he may be stronger physically… I should still be more agile.” she thought to herself considering a possibility of a conflict. She didn’t want him lay a finger on the Cain everyone knew as the First. It was deeply personal, too personal to even let him inside, even though she couldn’t confront The First by herself. She couldn’t let that bastard so close to the second part of her soul, to let him see inside her mind. With those thoughts in mind she put her hands in front of her chest, running straight into the lake and immediately diving in… Damien disposed of the stalkers with what seemed no effort, though that might have been his expressionless face, or the way his movements always looked lazy. With those years his combat skill grew immensely, but nothing could prepare him for what was coming at him. One moment he stood there, looking at the bodies with a mocking shadow of a smirk, the other he felt his body struck by something large and pointy, and in those few moments between being crushed into the heavy and almost unbreakable wall he managed to see his body pierced by two enormous ice spikes of what seemed an ice armor around just spreading wings that managed to grow inside and into his lungs as he and the one thrown flew to the wall. The crash wasn’t loud, but it sure hurt like hell, to both of them, as ice broke easily with the wings inside it and further, to the spine, the vampire being completely crushed, the bones in his upper body scattering into dust and mixing with ripped insides and other flesh and blood. Damien blacked out for a second or more, not knowing what happened in that time or why the icy demon or whatever flew into him, but soon the regenerating powers brought him back to consciousness. His vision was blacked out, as his eyes were crushed by the force of the impact of his face into the wall. His body slowly moved backwards as it started to regain its form, bit by bit flesh blood and bone returning back into place. The body that crushed into him was limp and it easily slid down as the ice was broken. His nails clung to the wall not to fall down and the neck cracked backwards, his head tangling upside down for a second, the newly formed eye seeing Daray running towards him. A gargling hiss of a growl started to come out of his lungs as his body repaired itself further and he let go now, bumping into the ground, muscles forming around his healed bones. Slowly he stretched out, turning to the other vampire with a deep frown on the half-repaired and still repairing face, slowly stretching his hand down, fingers bent into a claw, going forward in slow steps. - Hey, I’m sorry ok? I didn’t see you. – Daray said, seeing the other that way somehow frightened him and he unconsciously put his hands in front of himself slightly. - That. f**king. Hurt. – Damien hissed at him and moved his fingers slightly, the bones cracking into place at his shoulder, not a mark of the impact left on him except ripped and bloodstained clothes – You better have those cards or I swear I’ll kill you with my bare hands. – he said, looking the other in the eyes with such hate and determination that it seemed even if hell itself broke loose, he would keep this promise. - Yeah, I got them, the last one should be on this guy. – Daray said, pointing at the one that crashed into Damien, with those words quickly running at him and shuffling through bloody pockets. – Yep, got it. – he said, triumphantly holding it up in front of Daray, but the other seemed as not amused as ever now. - Good, now we need to wait for Lucifus to appear. He shouldn’t be far by now. – Damien said, turning away from the other and just sitting down on the ground there, in the alley. Daray looked at him slightly confused, but then shrugged, taking out a cig from his pocket and putting it to a small opening in the gass mask just where the mouth should be, lighting it up immediately and leaning to the wall both waiting now. |
