Dear Current Administrators of TBA, Stop erasing posts and topics. All of you. As a regular of TBA who loved it dearly, you have no idea how much it kills me that so many topics were left to the trash without member consent. And it wasn't just drama posts -some of you deleted any post that you didn't like, from roleplays, from anything...you deleted the entirety of A Very Potter Roleplay, as an example. As the creator of that roleplay, I realize it was somewhat of a failure, but the fact that it was erased without my consent is upsetting, and there were a few members who enjoyed it. I realize that there were some things posted on TBA that many of us are not proud of. Drama and the like. But even with that drama, TBA was so, so, important to me, and others. Yet, certain moderators have ignored this and have erased topic upon topic -that showed in the Administrator history. Even if you say it was only a single topic or a single post, the forum has been trimmed down. You say this is only "cleaning up the forum," but it's erasing our history, and I won't stand for it. To those of you who've returned to this forum only to remove things periodically, please stop. It simply isn't fair to those of us who are nostalgic and like looking back, and I know I don't speak of myself alone. With all due respect, LL.

Advanced Environmental Recycling Technologies (A.E.R.T.) has found other ways to limit cost runups. It gets its plastic from recycled goods rather than virgin PVC, and over the years it has learned how to convert ever-lower grades of polyethylene into usable feedstock. (Trex also gets most of its plastic through recycling.) As for wood flour, generally the more finely ground it is, the more expensive it gets. A.E.R.T. uses relatively large flakes of wood. The result, however, is a rougher-looking board than its competitors.

But if you really want to scrimp, ultimately you need to examine your additivesCthe chemicals that make trim whiter, deckboards stiffer, cores less (or more) foamy, and surfaces less likely to fade in the sun or crumble. Like spices, a little additive can cost a lot. Bill Ross, vice president of sales at Fiberon, says that while wood flour can cost 10 cents a pound and virgin PVC a dollar a pound, an additive can set you back hundreds of dollars per pound.

Anatole Klyosov, a biochemist and former WPC executive, says several lawsuits this past decade involving WPCs appeared to arise from failure to use enough additives. In one case, he says, a manufacturer didn't add enough color pigment, thus leading to fading. Another case stems from a lack of antioxidants.
