When do the states have to roster the kids by? I am wondering when it will show up on track wrestling. |

I doubt any names will show up on trackwrestling until AFTER weigh-in's - it's exactly as it should be - |

You will start seeing names in there next week however I wouldn't pay any attention to them at all. I have to turn in an initial roster prior to our camps even being all checked in. Not to mention that weights for our kids and every other state's will change between the time we have to input and the time they step on the scale. The only time you're really going to know who is wrestling is when they post the brackets on trackwrestling a couple of hours after weigh-ins. |

Metcalf was content to lose I guess. My son knows there are no monsters living under his bed but he has seen the one that lives on a maroon wrestling mat...the HalfNess Monster. | |

When will the kids know if they are on the team or not? And will this policy have to change if they eventually move this tourney a long ways from Minnesota? |

They won't officially know until the day camp ends. Even at that point they still have to make weight and behave. If a kid doesn't make weight at the first weigh-in they're heading home and have to give all team gear back. The only way it would change is if we had to fly our kids there which will more than likely never be the case. If we go by bus the only thing that would change is that our camps may start and end 1-2 days earlier than they currently do depending on where in the country the tournament were to be moved to. From where we're at we can get to anywhere they could hold it in less than 24 hours by bus. Mpls to Orlando is about a 24 hour bus trip and that's about as far away as either of those tournaments would ever be moved. Realistically if it moves it's going to end up somewhere like KC or Indianapolis. I don't see it ending up on either coast ever. |

I thought if kids didn't make weight they could go up a weight class.?? Last year I saw multiple kids at one weight for GR and then up one for FS....I also saw Cadets, particularily 98 lbers, jumping to Jrs for FS and wresting cadets for GR. So are you saying they declare their weight and thats it? make it or you are done? |

Not sure???, but some on Cadet duals didn't make weight for 2nd weigh in last year. They still wrestled. This year they all made weight....I didn't know it was a rule, thats all. If it is, it is. |

Roster limits and things like that prevent that from always being an option. Occasionally it does happen but that is not the norm. If a wrestler tells us he's going to make a weight we expect him to make it. If he doesn't make it he should expect to be sent home as the chances of us being able to allow him to go up a weight are slim. Bottom line...if you say you're going to make a weight we expect you to make it. Coaches and wrestlers will be talking about this on the first day of camp and every day after that. Coaches will be monitoring the wrestlers throughout camp. |

No. Regardless of that, a wrestler is expected to make the weight he tells the coaches he's going to make at camp. The coaches and wrestlers will work together on that. Obviously those top 3's from regionals are different though when it comes to the roster limits. Every wrestler other than those top 3 in the particular style count against roster limits....including those that we automatically give spots to such as double state champs and returning AA's at the same weight. |

CW, I'm getting calls/PM's from parents(family members/fans) of wrestlers wanting to know what time this and that happens in Fargo. It would be a blessing if you could post the event schedule on here so I can direct all traffic to this forum/post. Thanks! |

What is the deal with ND only having 12 Cadets and 21 Jrs at Fargo in GR? MN has 55 Cadets, 55 Jrs....CA and IL also have big numbers, and many states have far more than ND. Why can't they get a full team when they don't have to travel much, if at all? I noticed some tough ND names missing too...I don't get it. |

Fargo Cadet 112, especially FS is one of the most loaded brackets I've seen for studs. Grey Hacker Elmore Friedman Jeske Kievman Kraisser Devos Palmer Rickman Weber Whitford Wolfensperger Jones So many national folkstyle champs in that group I can't count'em. |

I was looking at MN/USA's team for greco is thin@112. Looks like we will only have 2 representing MN cadet in the fine art of greco. Over all as a nation@ 112........it will be a freakfest in Freestyle. Little warm up in the park.....get on the bus.....the warriors are ready to find a fight. I see MN has the 2nd most kids registered at this point in the cadet Greco with Ill. having the most. Everyones paper work gets handed in on Friday(cadets) so will get the official nod then. |

Preston is Tyler's little brother and if he is in school opening day then I think he will have a good shot at the line up somewhere. When it comes to the rumors these days I just don't believe anything concerning Valley until school starts... too many rumors this summer. Preston is very good and will be fun to keep track of at Fargo. He is moving up a couple of weights I think so he might have an adjustment with the big guys. Preston is also a great person and I am sure that the guys that were working out with him at Augsburg can vouch for that. |
