The important stuff that will happen in session #1 for the Minnesota Gophers:
Sanders has a tough opening match, but as long as his injury recovery is on track, he should win the match handily.
Ness will be looking for a fall to open up his senior run at a national championship. 5 matches away from the Hodge!
Thorn will also be looking for a fall or bonus points as he begins his run.
Mason will have his hands full, but his slick duck unders, etc should help him build a lead and hang on for the win
Schlatter will be huge for Gopher fans...to gage how bad his injury was. Even with an injury, DS should win this one
Cody Yohn faces a very beatable Cornell kid. If Gophers are gonna win it all, it has to start here!
Glasser is on top of his game right now, and should dominate his first round opponent
Sonny Yohn faces a tough senior, but Yohn's leg riding should help him score back points and win by 2 or 3
Berhow has by far the toughest match of the session for the gophers. He needs to win this one, as it will give him a big confidence boost. His opponent is ranked #11 and Berhow has always kept it close when the two wrestled. 2009 Berhow would have beaten him and I hope Big Ben returns to last years form. HWT is wide open and Berhow could sneak AA as lots of ranked HWTs will be getting beat in the early rounds. Berhow has to win a couple of matches to keep the gophers in this thing!

Thank you Matt Krumrie!

Not going to get much done at work today, this will be one of a few sites I have up and am frantically going to be hitting refresh on.

Could anyone list all of the Gopher matchups for the opening session this morning?

Gotcha...who was it that he upset right around that time then? I know he pulled one off that was unexpected right around that time as I recall Eggum predicting the upset in an interview.

Thanks CWill.

The Gophs can set the tone early. Sanders, Sonny and DS (if healthy) need to be ready to go, those are stern tests but opponents they should get by.

Cody Yohn and Berhow are our underdogs but both in very winnable matches.

Hello everyone,

I just got to my seat in press row. I am in the front row with mat 8 directly in front of me and mat 7 across from that. The view to mat 8 is real good, and the view to mat 7 and the center mats is decent, but the four on the other end is a ways away. I will do my best to report back what I can see. If anyone has any questions or thoughts please let us know and I will try to see what I can find out or report back. One other thing, the I on my keyboard is starting to go out, so I apologize if I miss a few I's or i's in a few sentences when typing fast!

Thanks!

Cole Von Ohlen sighting. Cole just walked in front of mat 8 with head coach Joel Sharratt and assistant Sam Barber. Cole stopped and talked to someone in the stands. Lots of Minnesota connections in that trio.

They are clearing the mats, the national anthem is coming up shortly, but first they are playing a little journey "don't stop believing"

It looks like there are some pigtail matches going on here first. I have yet to see much of the Minnesota contingent yet.

Earlier this week, somebody had posted the following link to livestreaming: http://all-access.cbssports.com/player.html?code=ncaa&media=173968

I checked it yesterday and it said the event had not yet begun. Now, it's saying it will be tape delayed. Anybody have any information on this? Thanks!

On Mat 8 in front of me is Mike Pucillo of Ohio State, a former national champion, and Mike Miller of Central Michigan, an All-American and former national runnerup.

I don't know what Pucillo's been doing for training purposes, but he has obviously spent time in the tanning booth. There is no way Ohio is that sunny this time of year!

Pucillo leads Miller 1-0 into third. I probably won't relay a lot of other matches but since the Gophers and other Minnesota kids aren't wrestling yet I'll do what I can. Change that, 2-1 Miller now with 90 second left.
